Story
Sasha how are you holding up? You are lonely and worried aren't you girl...the people you trusted to keep you safe all seem to drop you. Time and time again she is handed off like a baton only never making it to the finish line. Sasha is a big girl, she is strong, she is also timid even shy and needs to build her confidence. Sasha was living with a family that really didn't care for teaching her, training her, they just brought her up like a weed and when she was no longer convenient, they dropped her at a kill shelter. She struggled in the overcrowded environment, and the shelter let the previous owner know they will be putting her down, through some miracle she was given to another owner. This person got lost on their path and during her stay with this individual she was nervous, mishandled and sometimes mistreated. Sasha is like all of us, trying to phone home. Where exactly is that place. Sasha walks nicely on a leash and despite her confusing start to life-she loves taking direction from people. Sasha has a protective streak and will bond to her main person or people. She will honor you and will enjoy the guidance for many years to come. Sasha seems interested in people even kids but still needs to build her social skills. She was polite around a child and didn't try to get over to the child in any of setting manner. Sasha is like many dogs that end up in the rescue system undertrained, under loved, misguided and in need of structure and care. This girl needs some real TLC and a real shot at a true family. We are still learning how Sasha gets along with animals but will know real soon after we assess. To ask about Sasha, please contact us directly by calling  847-338-3252   or emailing  info@redemptionroadinc.org .      March 13, 2026, 11:26 am

Hi, Im Chi, rescued from the streets of Qatar. Ive got soft-boy charm! At first Ill size you up like a seasoned diplomat, but once youve passed the sniff test (bonus points if you brought treats), Im all in for cuddles and goofy play. Im great with other dogs and kind humans, including kids, and Ive been fully vetted, vaccinated, and neutered—basically, Im a gentleman in a tux. If youre the type who respects a slow warm-up and then welcomes the most loyal sidekick youll ever meet, Ive got your back (and your couch). Im still in Qatar but can be transported to an approved foster or adopter. I cant wait to meet you!

Story
Meet Zippy! 🐾 Zippy is a 5-year-old, 51-pound Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart as big as his smile. This lovable boy is always excited to meet new people and never misses an opportunity to make a new friend. His gentle, affectionate personality has made him a favorite among our staff, and it's easy to see why! Zippy has quite the story. Before coming to Anderson Humane, he spent four years at another shelter, hoping each day that someone would choose him. In fact, Zippy has spent his entire life waiting for a family to call his own. Now he's here, hoping that his forever home is finally just around the corner. Despite everything, Zippy hasn't lost his loving spirit. He's incredibly sweet, adores being close to his people, and is happiest when he's snuggled up soaking in all the affection he can get. His resilient heart and endless optimism make him truly special, and everyone who meets him falls a little bit in love. After spending his whole life in a shelter, Zippy deserves to experience all the simple joys of having a home—a cozy bed, daily walks, belly rubs, and a family who will love him unconditionally. He's waited far too long for that chance. Could you be the one to show Zippy what it's like to finally be home? He'll reward you with endless love, loyal companionship, and plenty of cuddles for years to come. When I arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, I tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm positive dogs like me to be while going through treatments and recovering is with a loving and forever family like yours. If you choose to adopt me, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support. The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep me safe while I recover. The last step in the process is a follow-up test six months after my treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will fully recover! Yeah! And you should know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitoes. Stop in and meet Zippy in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

Meet Quinn! Quinn is a 1-year-old bundle of happiness who's always ready for her next adventure! This energetic girl loves to play and can happily keep herself entertained by chasing after her favorite toys. She's also a smart pup who already knows her basic commands and is especially motivated by treats, making continued training both easy and rewarding.
