Case #48068490. Ricco was born 10/16/16. Ricco was recently surrendered to the shelter due to the health of his owner, he was no longer capable of taking care of him. Ricco is an older and therefore pretty chill guy. He's housetrained and he walks nicely on a leash. He's a big boy but gentle. We have not yet tested him with other dogs so if you have another fur baby at home, bring him by for a meet and greet to see how they do together. We're sure Ricco would like to live out his golden years in a loving home rather than at the shelter. This dog has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and is current with shots according to its age. Adoption fee is $90.00 cash or check only.

Baylor is a three year old medium breed who found herself in our care after a kind community member found her wandering around Gulfport in late December 2025. When she first came in she was very scared and nervous, clinging to any person who would allow her into their lap. She has since become a friendly girl who really just wants to snuggle. She weighs 39 pounds, is gentle, calm, and incredibly sweet, finding comfort in simple moments spent close to the people she trusts. She is dog friendly but would love another kated back couch potato to hang out with. Baylor is heartworm positive, but with treatment and a little patience, she has a long, happy life ahead of her. Our HSSM Wellness Clinic does discount the treatment for adopters. Baylor is waiting for you to come meet her and take her to her forever home. If you are unable to adopt please consider helping her find a home by donating to her heartworm treatment on our website at HSSM.org or visiting in person.

Hunner is a incredibly sweet and gentle 3 year old Catahoula Leopard dog who recently came into our care as a stray. He was picked up by Harrison County Animal Control on January 22nd, 2026 with no collar or microchip to identify him. He loves to be a lap dog and snuggle close to you at all times. He has a beautiful dapple coat color, is only 38lbs,great on a leash, and knows how to sit and lay down. We think he would be great with kids due to his gentle demeanor. He is great with other dogs, and would love to meet your pup if you have one. Catahoulas are a highly intelligent working breed who are perfect for farm life or a household who like to go on adventures. Hunner is heartworm positive by no fault of his own. However, our HSSM Wellness Clinic does discount the treatment for adopters and he is currently seeking treatment sponsorship to help him find his forever home. If you would like to meet this very sweet boy please come visit us in person. Or if you would like to help donate towards his treatment, you can do so at hssm.org or in person.
