ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Meet Sweet 5m old tripod Pearl from Puerto Rico.  All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org. Story
Penny is a gorgeous Rhodesian ridgeback mix that weighs approximately 50 lbs and is the sweetest girl! She is approximately 1 year and 3 months old and was found in January of 2026 in a cemetery with about 12+ other dogs. She was fending for herself, finding food, water and shelter where and when she could. This awesome girl absolutely loves other dogs; big and small. She is currently being fostered in a sanctuary in south Texas, along the Texas/Mexico border. This amazing sanctuary is only a short term stop for this baby until their forever home is found. They are the ones who originally found her and got her to safety, before reaching out to us to help in placing their animals in the homes they deserve. She can be a little shy right at first, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up and become your loyal, best friend. Penny is very active and loves to romp around the yard and play with the other doggies. The happiest she is, is when she is with other dogs and they have toys to play tug-o-war with. We strongly recommend another dog or dogs in the home, or consistent doggy friends/doggy parks/doggy day-care that she can go to. Where Penny currently is, has pigs and she enjoys playing with them too! While she does love to play, she is very gentle when she does. She is not overly rough. She is a bit of an escape artist as she just enjoys being out and about. Penny is MOSTLY house trained, just needs consistency to master is 100% Penny loves car rides and walks okay on a leash, will need a bit more work on the leash to become perfect. She has great recall once she is familiar with the area. We learned she is an escape artist as she climbed a 4-foot fence and got out. But all she did was explore a little bit and then go to the front door of the home and wait to be let in. She is such a good girl! An ideal home for Penny would be one that is: Active, wants a dog that loves to go on adventures Wants a best friend, a dog that will be your shadow Has another active dog to play with and tire each other out The fosters favourite thing about Penny: That even after she was dumped and left to starve to death in the middle of nowhere, she still trusts people and is the sweetest, most loving baby. This animal is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm positive (they have received the 30-day course of antibiotics and need to stay on heart worm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested then), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed ($495) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the Northeast. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Albany, NY – Only one transport company goes here, once a month Wells, VT and Brattleboro, VT Nashua, NH – Only one transport company goes here, times vary Willington, CT - Stamford, CT - Dayville, CT Steubenville, OH – Cincinnati, OH – Grove City, OH Grove City, PA and Washington, PA – THESE STOPS ARE ON HOLD AS OF 7/1 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE Ridgefield, NJ and Mt Laurel, NJ Emmitsburg, MD and Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA and Glenn Allen, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home. With an approved application, we do put you in touch with the foster who has the animal for you to ask any specific questions regarding them.

Story
Meet Reba Reba has spent her life taking care of everyone else. Now it’s finally her turn to be someone’s beloved family dog. After spending nearly 5 weeks in a shelter, Reba was pulled into foster care for a fresh start. On the way to her veterinary appointment, it became obvious she was carrying more than a few extra pounds. An examination confirmed she was over halfway through her pregnancy. She was also diagnosed as heartworm positive, but that didn’t stop her from settling into foster care with her calm, gentle nature. Not long after arriving, Reba delivered 8 beautiful puppies in a quick, uncomplicated labor. She proved to be an exceptional mother—attentive, patient, and loving. She kept her babies clean, well-fed, and safe until they were ready to begin their own journeys. Once her puppies were weaned, Reba began her heartworm treatment and is now ready to find a family of her own. About Reba * Believed to be a 4-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback* Gentle, calm, and incredibly sweet* Adjusts quickly to new environments and routines* Gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and ages* Cats are not recommended—she isn’t overly fond of them* Walks beautifully on a leash and also enjoys a securely fenced yard* Quick learner who enjoys pleasing her people* Crate trained and happily goes to her kennel when told “Kennel”* Can also be left out in the home with no issues* Eats Purina Dog Chow and does well eating alongside other dogs* Fully vaccinated* On heartworm prevention* Spayed Reba has endured more than most dogs should, yet she remains trusting, affectionate, and ready to love. She doesn’t ask for much—a soft bed, a kind family, and the chance to spend the rest of her life simply being someone’s cherished companion. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal best friend with a heart of gold, Reba is ready to meet you. If you would like her to join your family fill out an adoption application.  She is HW+ and currently receiving heartworm treatment in Louisiana which will be complete on 9/3/26.  Her $350 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, spay, microchip, heartworm treatment, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2677598##

Story
Meet Trisha Yearwood Trisha Yearwood was the last born of Reba’s litter of 8, and she is one of “the twins.” The last two puppies born looked almost identical, and this tiny girl has always been extra special. Her mom, Reba, was rescued from the shelter after being there for about a month. When Reba was picked up, she appeared pregnant, and a vet visit confirmed she was a little over halfway through her pregnancy. Reba went to her foster home and, right on time, delivered 8 healthy puppies in the bathroom. It was quick, easy, and everyone was healthy as could be. Reba was a wonderful mom, and each puppy has grown into their own unique personality. About Trisha Yearwood•     Born: March 29, 2026•     Age: 13 weeks•     Weight: 6 lbs•     Last born of the litter•     Known as: One of “the twins”•     Coloring: Mostly black with brindle socks•     Build: Tiny with short, stubby legs•     Fully vaccinated•     On heart-worm prevention•     Eating: Science Diet puppy food Personality•     The sweetest little girl•     Very confident despite her tiny size•     Loves to march around like she is the boss•     Curious and loves exploring outside•     Enjoys going for walks•     Loves chewing on bones•     Loves sleeping in a lap•     Very used to being carried around and close to people•     Loves playing with dogs her size•     Does well around bigger calm dogs too Home Life & Training•     Leash trained•     Does well in a crate at night•     Good in her crate during the day as needed•     Mostly potty trained•    ‍‍ Very people-oriented from all the one-on-one care she received•     Used to navigating a home with dogs of different sizesAt about 6 weeks old, as she was weaning, Trisha Yearwood had a rough start. She began losing weight and was not thriving like her siblings. A vet visit revealed an infection, and her foster family had to work hard to help her recover. She was pulled from the litter and kept in a crate right next to her foster at all times, receiving constant care and attention. This tiny girl proved she is a fighter. She pulled through, and although her early struggle left her with a bit of stunted growth, she is healthy now — just extra small. Because she was carried around and cared for so closely during her recovery, she is very comfortable being with people and loves being held, cuddled, and close.Trisha Yearwood may be little, but her personality is mighty. She is sweet, confident, curious, and full of life. Reba may have had a rough start, and this little girl had her own fight too, but she came through it beautifully. Now she is ready for a forever family who will love her tiny body, big spirit, and sweet little heart. Meet Patsy Cline Patsy Cline was the seventh born of Reba’s litter of 8, and she is lovingly known as one of “the twins.” The last two puppies born looked almost identical, and Patsy is one of those precious little look-alike.
