Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Follow along on our rescue journeys through the links below! *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $42 surcharge.

Rhodesian Ridgeback/Akbash

Male, Adult
Portland, OR
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Shots are up-to-date, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Bruno is such an affectionate and loving boy! I have had him his entire life. It is so so important to me that he goes somewhere where they will love him as much as I do. He is obsessed with his humans. Will want to be in the same room or space as you and be so so excited when you get home! He is treat trained and will do anything for a yummy treat. He is crate trained but I would happily provide his crate as it is his safe space! It makes it super easy to leave him in the house. He can be left in his crate for up to 10 hours without accidents or problems. He loves long leashed walks, dog parks, and beautiful hikes. He is a protective bread and might bark at people as they walk by the house but he is easily redirected if you ask him to “leave it” and “lay down”. He’s honestly the best dog I’ve ever met. I just can’t financially support him anymore.

Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever

Male, Young
Gresham, OR
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Good with dogs, Shots are up-to-date, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Pictures do not do him Justice, this is a sweet gentle giant. He has a beautiful reddish coat - I am confident he is either Rhodesian or vizsla mix. He has floppy ears that may be the result of a birth defect. They make him adorable. His name is Teddy but everyone says he looks like scooby doo. Teddy was found as a stray and could not thrive in the shelter environment. He came in with some scarring on his nose which may go away over time. He gets along with other dogs. He has a lot of energy but knows when to leave a dog alone. He is still young so I think with time and training he could be a great companion or family dog. He is good off leash as well. He loves fetch and giving hugs.
Photo of Kona

Rhodesian Ridgeback/American Pit Bull Terrier

Female, Young
Sisters, OR
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Spayed or Neutered,
Kona is a 4 year old rescue that came to us at 8 weeks old. She has tons of personality and is up for an adventure but is also content just snuggling up at home. She is a very laid back independent dog who also loves to be cuddled. We recently had a baby and she is so good with him. Kona is house trained, leash trained, and knows various different commands including "play dead!" Kona is an alpha type dog and currently a close companion to our other rescue dog who is very submissive. She would ideally be adopted into a home with no other pets. We are so heart broken to see Kona go as she been the best dog we have ever known but our housing situation and current financial state has forced us to make this decision. We just want her to go to a loving and happy home.

Rhodesian Ridgeback

Female, 12 yrs 2 mos
Eugene, OR
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Shots are up-to-date, Spayed or Neutered,
Meet Donna! She came to us with her lil bestie, Hilda from Los Angeles at the beginning of April.Donna & Hilda are a bonded pair and will only be adopted out together #bettertogether This senior lady is sweet as pie! She is incredibly sweet to every person she meets and has yet to meet someone she doesn't vibe with. And don't her age or large body fool ya, Donna still has great energy - she does take daily pain meds & CBD to help keep her arthritis. So although she's young in spirit and likes to get around, her older bod does create some mobility issues so she's looking for a home with limited or no stairs. Donna is very bonded to Hilda and can be protective of her at times. Understandably so as these two were found living in deplorable conditions with two other dogs She does have a higher prey drive, so she's looking for a home with no cats and we are still in the process of testing her with other dogs. We know she lived with other dogs before but she's definitely been more dog selective than Hilda when doing intros. If she does go to a home with another dog, we know she appreciates mellow energy. Donna would do great in a home with...Cats : Nope! Dogs : Yep!  Kiddos : Older kiddos - 12+ yrs! She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. To be considered for Donna & Hilda, submit an adoption application on our website! Follow us on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates!
