Kakki was born in an Out of the Woods' foster home on December 22, 2025. Mom is a Rottweiler mix who is on the small side, at 40 pounds. We have no knowledge of the daddy.Kakki was adopted by a family around 14 weeks, but a sudden change in family dynamics caused her to come back to us. Although that is sad news for Kakki, the great news is she learned SO much living with a family! Kakki adores children and she is fully house trained, crate trained and rides in a car like a champ! She is also good on leash and knows how to sit for her meals before she is served. She has a great personality and is friendly, loving and well behaved. This girl is up to date on all of her shots and has been on flea, tick and heartworm preventative since she was 8 weeks old. She just became old enough to be spayed and we are scheduling this surgery in the next few days. On her spay day, she will also be microchipped and get her rabies shot. At this point, all vetting will be done and she won't need anything for the next year. If you are looking for a sweetheart to adopt into your family, take a good look at Kakki. Kakki currently weighs 28 pounds and we expect her to grow to be between 35 - 40 pounds when she reaches adulthood. She got her beautiful markings from her mother! So, as you can see I am a BIG BIG GUY(130#)!!! Like the German Rotties, I have a BIG old HEAD and a propensity to protect my people....... I need just the right home, no other dogs please. I was not socialized with other dogs while growing up and am a big boy and so introducing to other dogs is a challenge for the rescuers and therefore we are looking for a single dog home. I am a very typical rottie and was kept as a protector of the property. I LOVE my people and honestly would love to be a lap dog, lol, but I also need a couple or single who is a strong leader, who really understands my breed and who will assure that I stay safe and others do as well. Now, I have a sweet and loving side, and my friends love that about me ;) But look at my face, without my toothy grin, and you know they understand that I am a serious guy :) I love my peeps and am ready for just the right place. I can only be adopted in TX and HAVE to be met and introduced and spend time with me before the rescue will approve my adoption. So only the strong need apply!! Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST! Just like a Twix bar, I am super sweet, a little salty, and really ooey gooey! I was found when I was only 10 months old and brought to God’s Dogs Rescue. I was adopted shortly after but returned due to being a snarky teenager and showing tenacity and energy common with my breeds. Training would have been key! Anyway, since coming back, I have spent almost *4.5 years* living on GDR's ranch property in Texas. I’ve been overlooked all this time and it’s time for that to change! I have now been in a foster home for ~8 months. It took some time to adjust to being indoors again but I have learned the wonders of ✨air conditioning✨. It also took time to adjust to “less dogs” but I‘m loving my newfound personal space. There are other dogs in my foster home but, at my age, I prefer dogs that match my low energy. I would even be fine as the only dog. Certainly no cats or other small animals for me! I still have a tinge of that independent/stubborn streak from my youth but, at the end of the day, I am a BIG LOVER! I get so excited, wiggly, and bouncy with my foster mom. She gives the best hugs and back scratches, I give the best hair tumbleweeds. I shed A LOT! While living at the rescue, they took great care of me...too good, honestly. I put on a lot of weight but have now slimmed down some, too! I am eating less and getting joint supplements every day to continue working on my figure. I am a generally lazy guy but I am amazing on a leash and love to go on walks. More consistent exercise will help with my weight loss. I still have plenty of pep in my step (especially when I‘m on the hunt for squirrels) so don’t let my age or size fool you. I am so ready for my new AND FINAL home! I will melt your heart when you look into my caramel eyes and sweet, chocolatey soul. Don't hesitate, ADOPT ME!!
