Story
This poor guy has been overlooked for 2 years! Yes, that is right, Buck has been here at the shelter since March of 2023. We are not sure why though...Buck has stolen all of our hearts. He has a fun energy and just loves to be included in things. He is a 60 pound ball of joy! Buck just wants to be where the action is and loves people. He does well with most other dogs, but prefers to be the only dog in the home so he can get all of the attention. Buck is house and leash trained and LOVES going for walks. He is also very good at entertaining himself with a good bone and he enjoys to lay on his bed with his blankets. Buck will make a great dog for anyone who will smother him with love and take him on adventures.  If you are interested in giving Buck a loving home, please visit our website at schspets.org and complete the online adoption application and you will be contacted to arrange a visit. You can also call the shelter at 870-269-5200 to make an appointment to meet him.August 7, 2025, 11:58 am

Story
Tank is a full blooded rottweiler. He will be 2 in January. He is full of energy and love. His favorites include playing fetch and holding hands. Tank is very affectionate and the sweetest rottie youll meet. He is very smart and easy to train but like most rots, very stubborn. He has the most goofiest personality and will keep you laughing. He loves water, his toys, balls and fun. He loves kicking his legs in the air to take multiple naps throughout the day in between as well. Tank is very good with people and dogs. He knows no stranger. Everyone that meets him, loves him. I am unfortunately unable to provide the emotional and physical attention that he needs. Tank will do best in a home with other dog(s) and/or someone that works from home or has a lifestyle that can provide the love and care that he needs. I also unfortunately am no longer able to keep him at my current home due to his size. Tanks deserves someone that can love him to the fullest. He really is the best boy.

Bones was found stray in Austin, AR. He did not have a microchip and was not reclaimed. He had a tumor on the back of his left leg that is being removed. He’s been dog friendly and seeks human affection. He’s a great dog and we truly believe he was someone’s pet before he was dumped. He’s is crate trained and can sit and stay. He sits and waits for his food to be set on the floor before trying to get it.

Alfalfa has so many meanings. To horse people alfalfa is a rich and green leafy food :) To dog people, Alfalfa, means ME!!! I have not lead the most "leafy" life though. I was FINALLY saved from an extreme hoarding situation - I was waiting my whole life to leave that "life" behind!! And I am SO grateful to the ladies who have taken over a year to save 65 of the 87 dogs I lived with AND are still working to get more out! I am a shy when u first meet me, but don't let that de-suade you! I will warm up and you will be so so grateful that you gave me the time to open up to you and show you my steady and grateful side, I am more of a loner than a lot of hoarding dogs are, I actually would be fine with or without another dog or cat. I am slow to trust but once I trust you I am a quiet and loving companion :) Only on my terms. I have been through a lot and just need the most wonderful, patient, laid back and quiet family!! I know you are OUT THERE!! Look onto my chocolate dreamy eyes, and get that application in! I am waiting..... Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 ( includes transport to your area)

Story
So, as you can see I am a BIG BIG GUY(130#)!!! Like the German Rotties, I have a BIG old HEAD and a propensity to protect my people....... I need just the right home, no other dogs please. I was not socialized with other dogs while growing up and am a big boy and so introducing to other dogs is a challenge for the rescuers and therefore we are looking for a single dog home. I am a very typical rottie and was kept as a protector of the property. I LOVE my people and honestly would love to be a lap dog, lol, but I also need a couple or single who is a strong leader, who really understands my breed and who will assure that I stay safe and others do as well. Now, I have a sweet and loving side, and my friends love that about me ;) But look at my face, without my toothy grin, and you know they understand that I am a serious guy :) I love my peeps and am ready for just the right place. I can only be adopted in TX and HAVE to be met and introduced and spend time with me before the rescue will approve my adoption. So only the strong need apply!! You will get an AMAZING and DEDICATED and EXTREMELY LOYAL DOG! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX only)

Story
TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Drax is a really cool name, right?? Makes me look AND sound like a tough guy! Look at my head!! I am a REAL ROTTIE!! No mistaking me for a POODLE or CHIHUAHUA. I am the real deal and being a Rottie has some advantages and some disadvantages... Advantages- Handsome boy, people may think I am scary because of my size and big head but I am NICE (ok that can be a disadvantage too). I look good walking next to anyone from big to little.... Disadvantages- ok I look scary but I am a big marshmallow...unless you threaten my family.... and then it is a big advantage! So as you gathered, I am a glass half full kind of boy. And my glass is ALMOST FULL, except one thing!! A FAMILY! I will love you and kiss you and hang out with you and run with you and protect you no matter what..... You just have to pick me and put in the adoption application soon! I will fill your life with wonderful drooly love while you fill my life with the family I have been dreaming of!! Must know the breed. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Oscar is a 1 ½-year-old Boxer/Pit mix with the heart of a goofball and the face of Scooby-Doo! Born in foster care and adopted as a puppy, Oscar sadly found himself back in need of a home after his family realized they didn’t have enough time for him. Sweet Oscar absolutely loves people and is always ready for fun, whether it's going for walks or romping in the yard. He’s also incredibly well-behaved—fully potty trained and crate trained. In fact, he even puts himself to bed in his open crate at night like the good boy he is. Oscar would thrive in a home that can give him plenty of exercise and attention during the day and all the snuggles he can handle in the evening. He wants nothing more than to be part of a loving family who makes him feel included and adored. Apply to adopt Oscar at HeberSpringsHumaneSociety.com Oscar’s adoption fee is $125.00 and includes first vaccinations, worming, microchip, and sterilization. We have a dog park to check compatibility with possible sibling dogs. Please fill out an adoption application at HeberSpringsHumaneSociety.com and a volunteer will contact you in 2-3 business days. The adoption application is NOT on Adopt a Pet and must be completed on the Heber Springs Humane Society website.
