Story
Your personal protector and cuddle bug. I am a fiercely loyal, one-person guardian with the heart of a teddy bear. Once bonded, I am a calm, quiet shadow who adores cuddles and thrives on pleasing my trusted owner. I require an experienced human who will provide consistent training, respect my clear boundaries with strangers (no petting), and offer a quiet, dog-free home. In return, I will give unmatched devotion, constant companionship, and dedicated protection. My love is deep, exclusive, and absolutely unwavering. General Socialization Notes: I am a calm and capable companion in social settings when managed properly. I coexist peacefully with visitors as long as I wear my comfortable muzzle (I have been trained to be comfortable, wearing a muzzle in order to provide safety for me and others in situations that might be unpredictable for me) and I am completely ignored—no eye contact or attempts to pet me. Under these conditions, I will relax on my bed or even wander near guests. On walks, I can pass adults calmly even stopping to chat but I need distance from children and other animals. With clear boundaries and an owner who advocates for me, I can be a quiet, well-mannered presence. Does George like other animals? For the most part I do not like other animals. With a proper introduction to another dog, I have been able to get along with them however I need to get to know a dog over a long period of time through a barrier. Does George like children? I'd do best in a home without children. Favorite Toys: I am a beast at tug of war. I absolutely love to show you my strength. I have a protocol where people can hold my rope and say leave it and I’ll sit and then when I hear yes I can go for my rope and tug my heart away. My other favorite toys include large bones and balls. I don’t love fetch but I enjoy tossing my ball in the air and licking it and then acting surprised with I see it flying around. Ideal Forever Home: My perfect home is a quiet, predictable sanctuary with a confident, experienced owner who seeks a deeply bonded protector and companion. I need a home with no other pets, no children (now or in the future), and ideally, land or a large, secure yard where I can roam without constant triggers. My person must be consistent, providing daily structure, training, and advocacy—respecting my boundaries so others do as well. While I can be left alone for a workday, I thrive when sharing a calm, mostly at-home lifestyle with my human. If you are looking for a loyal shadow—a steadfast guardian who will be your devoted, cuddly teddy bear in exchange for your guidance, patience, and exclusive love—then I am waiting for you.

Story
This girl came to us as a stray, so her past is a mystery. Because of that, introductions to other animals and children should be slow, gentle, and positive to help everyone feel comfortable. Taking things at a slow pace sets the stage for lasting friendships. Moving into a new home is a big change, and she may need extra time to settle in. Predictable routines and patience will help her feel safe and secure.

Story
This puppy was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas after ending up on the euthanasia list with their mom and littermate. They are available to meet starting 2/14 Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2651370##
