Story
Lady is a gentle, sensitive soul who is looking for a calm and patient home where she can truly blossom. She can be skittish at first — especially around men — and may bark when she feels unsure. Because of this, she’ll need extra time and understanding in a home where men are present. With consistency and kindness, she does begin to relax and build trust. Once Lady feels safe, her sweet personality shines. She is incredibly loving, enjoys being held, and happily melts into cuddles and pets. She forms strong bonds with her people and will be a deeply loyal companion. Lady is very food motivated, which is helpful for building confidence and continuing her training. She’s still gaining courage when it comes to walks and currently prefers the safety of home and yard time. She has started playing in the yard and is making small but meaningful progress every day. She will even go into her crate on her own with the door open to rest, showing she’s learning to feel secure in her space. Lady will thrive in a quiet home with consistent, patient people who can help her continue building confidence at her own pace. In return, she will offer unwavering love, loyalty, and the sweetest cuddles. Lady's new home needs to have another, more confident dog to help her build trust.  Lady was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. She was at risk of euthanasia with her puppies due to overcrowding, but was able to be rescued in time.  Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2651369##

Story
Meet Megatron, a 3-month-old Rottweiler puppy weighing 23 pounds. This goofy little guy is full of personality and puppy energy. He loves to play, whether it’s with toys or engaging with his people, and he’s always curious about the world around him. Megatron is very food motivated, which will make training a fun and rewarding experience. He is at an important stage in life where he will need a committed home ready to continue his training, socialization, and structure as he grows into a well-mannered adult dog. Like all puppies, Megatron will benefit from consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement to help guide him through his development and set him up for success. A required in-person meet and greet is the best way to ensure a great match for both Megatron and potential adopters. If you’re ready for the energy, humor, and commitment that comes with raising a young puppy, we encourage you to come meet Megatron and see if he’s the right fit. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
