What we know: Single male transferred from Tulia Animal Control Advocates in TX. Ended up in the shelter after being found as a stray, likely dumped by his owners. X-rays revealed that he had been shot in the leg prior to being found. From the foster: Chuy’s story didn’t start the way any dog’s should. This sweet Rottweiler mix fought for his survival after being shot in the foot and then abandoned to fend for himself before ending up at a shelter. But after everything he has been through, Chuy still chooses to love with his whole heart. Chuy is the kind of dog who will become your best friend, adventure buddy, and Sunday football sidekick. 🏈❤️ He’ll greet you at the door with his whole tail shaking and the biggest smile, simply because his favorite person came home. He loves other dogs, is great with kids, and does well with cats—although he may spend some time trying to convince the cat that they should obviously be best friends. 😂 He is good on a leash and LOVES his walks, whether it’s a neighborhood stroll or heading out for an adventure. Chuy is also a crate superstar! He goes into his crate with no problem, settles right in, and doesn’t bark while he’s in there. He’s currently learning how to use the dog door and doing great—he may just need a little patience and reassurance along the way to remind him that, yes, he really is a good boy. ❤️ Chuy has already proven how much of a fighter he is. Now he shouldn’t have to fight anymore. Gus is a 7year old full breed German Rottweiler. He is a sweet dog and would do best in a home with no kids no other pets. We have owned him since he was 8 weeks old. Our autistic son recently started having behavioral problems which often leads to loud screaming/crying and loud noises, this make Gus uneasy. He feels the need to be protective. We believe it would be better for our son and Gus if Gus was able to find a new home. Gus is very sweet and loves people, he is also very protective of the people he loves and dominate.
