General Socialization Notes: I am a calm and capable companion in social settings when managed properly. I coexist peacefully with visitors as long as I wear my comfortable muzzle (I have been trained to be comfortable, wearing a muzzle in order to provide safety for me and others in situations that might be unpredictable for me) and I am completely ignored—no eye contact or attempts to pet me. Under these conditions, I will relax on my bed or even wander near guests. On walks, I can pass adults calmly even stopping to chat but I need distance from children and other animals. With clear boundaries and an owner who advocates for me, I can be a quiet, well-mannered presence. Does George like other animals? For the most part I do not like other animals. With a proper introduction to another dog, I have been able to get along with them however I need to get to know a dog over a long period of time through a barrier. Does George like children? I'd do best in a home without children. Favorite Toys: I am a beast at tug of war. I absolutely love to show you my strength. I have a protocol where people can hold my rope and say leave it and I’ll sit and then when I hear yes I can go for my rope and tug my heart away. My other favorite toys include large bones and balls. I don’t love fetch but I enjoy tossing my ball in the air and licking it and then acting surprised with I see it flying around. Ideal Forever Home: My perfect home is a quiet, predictable sanctuary with a confident, experienced owner who seeks a deeply bonded protector and companion. I need a home with no other pets, no children (now or in the future), and ideally, land or a large, secure yard where I can roam without constant triggers. My person must be consistent, providing daily structure, training, and advocacy—respecting my boundaries so others do as well. While I can be left alone for a workday, I thrive when sharing a calm, mostly at-home lifestyle with my human. Amara is a lovely medium-energy girl who enjoys a good balance of activity and relaxation. She’s mostly laid back and easygoing, but every now and then she’ll show off her playful side — especially if there’s a toy involved! Toss one her way and you’ll see her light up. She walks nicely on leash and handles her kennel time like a champ, making her an easy addition to just about any routine. Amara is very treat motivated (hello, training opportunities!) and loves learning — especially when snacks are part of the deal. Her absolute favorite thing? Booty scratches. Give her a good scratch and you’ll be rewarded with happy wiggles and a big Rottie grin. She’s fantastic with people and truly just enjoys being near her humans. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who can hang out on the couch but still enjoy some playtime in the yard, Amara may be your girl. Amara was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Lady is a gentle, sensitive soul who is looking for a calm and patient home where she can truly blossom. She can be skittish at first — especially around men — and may bark when she feels unsure. Because of this, she’ll need extra time and understanding in a home where men are present. With consistency and kindness, she does begin to relax and build trust. Once Lady feels safe, her sweet personality shines. She is incredibly loving, enjoys being held, and happily melts into cuddles and pets. She forms strong bonds with her people and will be a deeply loyal companion. Lady is very food motivated, which is helpful for building confidence and continuing her training. She’s still gaining courage when it comes to walks and currently prefers the safety of home and yard time. She has started playing in the yard and is making small but meaningful progress every day. She will even go into her crate on her own with the door open to rest, showing she’s learning to feel secure in her space. Meet Jax, Jax is a blue & tan boy with natural ears and a tail that is knocking the door at 6 years old. He is a super sweet boy and deserves the best life. He is a very smart boy who loves cuddles, is great on a leash, and knows a lot of commands! He's a great running and hiking partner, too! Jax needs to be in a Doberman experienced home with no small children. He will need a home with a 6 ft fence, as he can clear a 3-4 ft fence if he decided to let himself out on a run. Jax is fully vetted and ready for his new forever home. Jax is muzzle trained and in high stress environments like vet offices it would be best for him to wear it in case he gets over stimulated. This boy has had a rough life thus far after running the streets of Mexico to coming here. Jax would be best in a home with another dog to keep his confidence up. He is good with cats and horses also. Jax is a true velcro dog and protective of his tribe once he settles in. Meet Dakota, Dakota found himself in a sticky situation because his owner passed away. He is currently grieving the loss of his owner and is unsure what to do with himself. The person helping with the estate and though of his owner as a father figure did try to home him but the people couldn't handle his barking even though it was only 24 hrs. He will need time his whole world has changed. We did learn that he was originally adopted from a local rescue that is no longer operating. Dakota is up to date on vaccines and neutered. He has not lived with other dogs since he was adopted so currently we are unsure how he is with other dogs or cats. We are also unsure how he is with small kids as his previous owner did not have kids either. We do know he is ok being around people in wheelchairs though. Interested in adding a senior to your home.
