Story
🐾 Meet Kimbo – Looking for His Forever Home 🐾 Kimbo is a handsome 6-year-old Rottweiler/Husky mix weighing about 85 pounds. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations Through no fault of his own, Kimbo was left behind after my ex moved out. While I wish I could keep him, I have an older female dog, and they don't always get along, so I know he deserves a home where he can truly thrive. Kimbo is house-trained and is used to living indoors as part of the family. He loves being outside too—especially if there's water to splash in! Whether it's a pond, a kiddie pool, or a hose, water is one of his favorite things. He also absolutely loves playing fetch and would be thrilled to have someone who enjoys throwing a ball as much as he enjoys chasing it. Kimbo would do best in a home without small children or other pets. He needs a family that understands his needs and can give him the love, attention, and stability he deserves.

Story
Dog Name: Ragnar Breed: Rottweiler  Sex: Male Age: 7 years old Weight: 117lbs   Medical Needs: Thyro-Tab, Dermaquin, Zenrelia (as needed), Cosequin Joint Health, Weekly Ear cleanings, No Poultry Diet   Housebroken: Yes!   Crate trained: Yes! He will go to his crate just to relax but listens very well.    Good in the car: Yes! He just wants to be up with you or laying down. No real in between. But he LOVES to go for a ride.   Good on a leash? He is good with a martingale in known places and just going out. He does have a tendency to pull in unfamiliar areas so when going out, we use a prong.   Energy level: Some excitement and zoomies! The old man can move if he wants.    Need a fenced in yard: no   Dog Friendly: Yes. He likes other friends!   If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, he loves his people.   Cat Friendly? He wants to be friends with the resident kitty, and has made great progress, but will still chase if kitty runs away.  Ragnar is easily redirected when this happens and doesn’t seem to mean kitty any harm.  If his new family has cats, it would be best if they were already accustomed to miniature pony sized dogs to hopefully cut down on them running from him.    Kid Friendly: Amazing with kids. Loves nothing more than his tiny humans.    If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any age as long as there is proper supervision   Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? He is the sweetest gentlest giant. All he wants is to be by your side and enjoy supervising whatever you are doing. He loves to be outside in a yard, laying in the shade. He still loves to play tug and then get good cuddles after. A 117lbs of pure love.    Fosters Location:  Milford , DE   Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app See less ##2728809##

Story
Just adopted. Thought he would be a good fit. My children are afraid of him. He had become more aggressive than what myself and children are comfortable with. How’s broken, stubborn but listens to commands sometimes. Somewhat of a gentle giant when he wants to be. Barks to much for my neighbors. Up at night pacing and sleeps most of the day. My hours at work and my children’s fear will not allow for patients and attention he needs.

Story
We took Clarence in, as someone needed to rehome him. The person we randomly found on social media was deceptive when telling us about Clarence. Clarence is as sweet as can be with an adult only home or older children. No young children. No other pets. He does well all by himself. He loves to play. Has a lot of energy so will require daily exercise routine. He loves to cuddle and is need of a lot of attention. A loyal dog to the fullest. Listens well and has had some training. He loves his crate and will use it as a place of rest when he’s tired.

Story
REIGN was found tied to our fence on New Year's Eve. At the time, he seemed like a very insecure, tentative guy. After about a week of being with us, we received a note about his past. Apparently Reign was rescued from an abusive home by a good Samaritan. We feel that he was introduced too quickly and shown love too quickly and escalated to top dog, resulting in a couple of bites and A dogfight. We have been going slow with Reign and feel that he would do well a Rottweiler savvy, female only home. He is not a confident dog and needs to experience the things he missed out on in his first home – long gentle hikes would be ideal confidence builders.  Once he settles in, a basic obedience class would be a great beginning 'job'.  Reign Is learning a little bit each day and we are not looking to rush him into a home, we would like a family that is able to do several meet and greets, overnights and take it slow slowly. Reign has been neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for heartworm and tickborne diseases and has been microchipped. Adoption $350. Please fill out our dog adoption application prior to making an appointment to come out and meet Reign. March 7, 2026, 5:36 pm
