Meet Stormy - Your New Best Friend in the MakingStormy is a 1.5‑year‑old hound/Rottweiler mix - at least that's the best guess, and honestly, it's a pretty adorable combination. He's the perfect blend of goofy, loyal, and eager to please. Why He's Looking for a HomeStormy was recently adopted and thrived in his home, but his family had to move somewhere that didn't allow dogs. They were heartbroken to return him - and it wasn't because of anything he did wrong.Stormy's Best QualitiesDog‑friendly - He enjoys the company of other pups and plays well.Kid‑friendly - He lived with children and did great with them.House‑trained - He knows the routine and was a very good boy in a home.Young & eager - At just 1.5 years old, he's full of life and ready for adventure.Cat‑selective - He prefers a home without feline roommates. His PersonalityStormy is a happy, affectionate, people‑loving boy. He bonds quickly, loves being part of the action, and has that sweet, earnest energy that makes you feel lucky just to be around him. What He's Hoping ForStormy is dreaming of a forever home - one where he can settle in, be loved, and never have to pack his bags again. Story
Dog Name: Ragnar   Breed: Rottweiler    Sex: Male   Age: 7 years old   Weight: 117lbs   Medical Needs: Thyro-Tab, Dermaquin, Zenrelia (as needed), Cosequin Joint Health, Weekly Ear cleanings    Housebroken: Yes!   Crate trained: Yes! He will go to his crate just to relax but listens very well.    Good in the car: Yes! He just wants to be up with you or laying down. No real in between. But he LOVES to go for a ride.   Good on a leash? He is good with a martingale in known places and just going out. He does have a tendency to pull in unfamiliar areas so when going out, we use a prong.   Energy level: Some excitement and zoomies! The old man can move if he wants.    Need a fenced in yard: no   Dog Friendly: Yes. He likes other friends!   If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, he loves his people.   Cat Friendly? He wants to be friends with the resident kitty, and has made great progress, but will still chase if kitty runs away.  Ragnar is easily redirected when this happens and doesn’t seem to mean kitty any harm.  If his new family has cats, it would be best if they were already accustomed to miniature pony sized dogs to hopefully cut down on them running from him.    Kid Friendly: Amazing with kids. Loves nothing more than his tiny humans.    If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any age as long as there is proper supervision   Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? He is the sweetest gentlest giant. All he wants is to be by your side and enjoy supervising whatever you are doing. He loves to be outside in a yard, laying in the shade. He still loves to play tug and then get good cuddles after. A 117lbs of pure love.    Fosters Location:   Milford , DE   Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app See less ##2728809##
