Meet Jaxx: a smart, loyal dog looking for an experienced and loving home. I adopted Jaxx during the COVID 19 pandemic after losing my German Shepherd, Sam. He came into my life at a time of loss and became a steady, loyal companion. Jaxx is extremely intelligent and knows his core commands, like sit, down, stand, and heel, and he genuinely enjoys mental challenges like hide-and-seek and treat puzzles. Indoors, Jaxx is calm, well-mannered, and relaxed, with only normal excitement at the door. He does very well with my daughter’s tiny 2yr old Morkie, showing he can coexist peacefully with small dogs. Outside, Jaxx can be reactive and needs a patient, confident handler who understands guidance and consistency. Rehoming Jaxx is not a decision I’ve made lightly. I am leaving the country, and he deserves a stable home with someone who can help him thrive. Jaxx learns quickly, bonds deeply, and will be an incredibly devoted companion to the right person.

He is friendly and social with every person he meets, he has met customers of all ages and loves everyone. He does not appear to be friendly with other animals at this time, he would need to be the only pet in the home. He does appear to be housebroken. They have not tried to crate him, he has free roam of the office at night when everyone goes home and has not gotten into anything and does well being left out. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for us, but after a serious incident in our home involving another pet, we have come to the conclusion that she needs to be in a different environment where she can truly succeed and everyone can remain safe. She is deeply loved, highly intelligent, agile, and very loyal to her people. Root Beer thrives with structure, attention, and clear boundaries. She would do best as the only pet in the home and in an environment that is calm, stable, and experienced with strong dogs. With a young child in the home and ongoing tension between the animals, the stress in our household has become too high to safely manage long term. We are trying to make the most responsible choice possible for both Root Beer and our family. Our biggest priority is finding her a safe, committed home where she can have the individual attention and environment she needs to thrive.
