❤️‍🩹Beaux started out at the shelter an extremely timid dog that wouldn’t even allow people to touch him. Since then, he’s come leaps and bounds! Here’s an update from his foster mom: 🛋️Beaux has definitely discovered his love of all things soft and cozy! 🏠He’s doing great in the house and hasn’t had a single accident. He hasn’t been destructive or chewed things up, although he’s still learning that not everything he finds belongs to him—socks and T-shirts are apparently fair game for playtime! 😂🧦 He’s learning to go into his kennel when asked and is making progress with “leave it.” When I leave the house, Beaux stays in his kennel and seems to do well. I haven’t seen signs of him being destructive while kenneled. 💙He can still be hesitant about affection initially and sometimes needs a little encouragement, but once he’s comfortable, he ✨LOVES✨ pets—and has become pretty demanding about getting them! 🤡His goofy side is really starting to come out, too. When I get home from work and he gets outside in the yard, he bounces around and gets incredibly playful. 🎾It’s been really fun watching more and more of his personality come out. 🐕 Beaux seems to gain confidence from having other dogs around and appears to open up more with them. He’s still learning how to navigate dog interactions, especially when play gets loud or exciting. That can overwhelm him and cause him to jump in and get a little snippy. He would do best with an understanding dog companion and people willing to help him continue learning appropriate interactions. 🚙 One thing Beaux has not discovered a love for yet is the car. 😂 Car rides are still a pretty big hurdle for him, and he’ll need someone patient and willing to help him work through that at his own pace. Beaux has come a long way already. Underneath that initially unsure pup is a goofy, affectionate little guy who is learning more every day that being a dog can actually be pretty fun. ♥️ 🏡 http://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TIP-A-548

🐾 Help Us Find a Loving Home for Mabel 🐾 Due to an unexpected loss in our family, we are trying to find a loving home for Mabel, my brother-in-law’s dog. This has been a difficult time, and we very much want to find her the right home rather than surrender her to a shelter. Mabel was originally found as a stray, so we don’t know her full history. Our vet estimates she is about 3 years old. She is a sweet, loving girl, but we believe she would do best as the only pet in the home. Mabel has been seen by a vet and is on flea treatment. We aren’t certain if she has been spayed or is current on vaccinations, but we are happy to cover the cost of both if needed. Volunteer Notes: A Walk with Louie `Louie pulls on the leash a little, but he doesn`t tug too much. He`s very attentive, I called for him once, and he came running right over, happy to stay close by. He`s food motivated and takes treats gently with a little lick. His coat could use some TLC, but what`s there is actually very soft. He`s definitely a sweet boy who`s eagerly waiting for his person to come adopt him.`Louise, KHS VolunteerLouie came in with a pretty severe skin infection. It has been responding well to treatment. He has been incredibly sweet since arrival. Louie has also done well with male and female dogs with us and enjoys playing with toys. Come in today to meet Louie!
