Story
Meet Honey!A 48lb, 2-year-old, Rottweiler mix who was found abandoned in a trailer with busted-out windows during sub-zero temperatures. Ice had formed across the floor, and Honey was left trying to survive the bitter cold. To make matters worse, he was covered in paint, as if he’d been discarded along with the mess. Despite everything he endured, Honey’s spirit remained unshaken.True to his name, Honey is incredibly sweet. He greets people with gentle eyes and a soft, hopeful presence. There isn’t a bitter bone in his body—just a quiet resilience and a big heart ready to love again. Honey is especially interested in other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion who can show him the ropes and share in his newfound safety and comfort. After surviving the cold and neglect, Honey deserves a warm home, a soft bed, and a family who will never let him feel abandoned again. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!

Story
Oliver was the product of an accidental breeding at a campground. The parents are an AKC registered Rottweiler and an AKC registered rough coated collie. He is a very sweet boy and has a very big bone structure, waiting 47 lb at 4 months, and we anticipate him to be large full grown.   The adoption fee for puppies under 6 months of age is $265. If the puppy is too young or small to be fixed there will be a $75 spay/neuter rebate form provided. They currently have at least 1 puppy shot,, flea preventative, heartworm preventative and are microchipped with lifetime registration ($13). If you have serious interest in this puppy, please fill out an application (don't call, email or text before filling out an app or you will have a greater chance of missing out on this puppy). Applications can be filled out at this link. https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10167/generic . ##2663941##

Story
The only thing better than one thick, squishy, big-headed Rottie boy is an even thicker, squishy, big-headed Rottie boy! Meet father/son duo: Max and Zeus. We would LOVE to find them a home together. To apply for these two, please email us at pets@michianapets.org. Please take a minute to read about them first... Max is Zeus's father. Max is eight years old and weighs 101 pounds. Zeus is five years old and weighs 130 pounds. Granted, they each could shed a few pounds but they are stout fellows. Both boys are neutered. And they have amazing manners. They won't eat until being told, "Okay, eat", they know how to sit, stay and they take treats SO gently. They are both amazing at being house-trained. The ideal adopter for Max and Zeus would be as follows: Someone who has Rottweiler or XL breed experience. Someone who will take the boys on walkies (they love them!) and help their health improve and give them lots of unconditional love! Someone who understands they are adopting the boys "as is"... Max's hips are a bit weak, he has a couple lumps and bumps and we are also trying to heal his back leg as he is chewing on it due to his increased kennel stress. Zeus also has lumps and bumps. All of that being said, the boys could have lots of time left but we also don't know what the lumps and bumps actually are, so time could be shorter. These sweet boys are really already struggling in the shelter environment; so getting them into a home is so important. They have lived with cats before and were uninterested and re-directable when around shelter cats. We'd love for kiddos to be about 12ish and older. Their best dog interactions have been with female dogs. They love to snuggle close and lean in for back rubs. They also love car rides! Okay, MHS followers, lets share Max and Zeus's post and get them out of the shelter together and living happily forever after in a home.
