Meet Sparkles: The Intuitive Companion You’ve Been Waiting For Age: 2 Years | Breed: Picture-Perfect Pit Bull Mix | Status: Parvo Survivor & Graduate of Crate/House Training Look closely at this face. The alert gaze, the perfectly perked triangle ears—that is the expression of an incredibly smart dog who is already trying to figure you out. Sparkles isn't just a miracle survivor; she’s an expert-level observer who is looking for her ultimate human match. ** The Expert Behavioral Analyst (in a Dog Suit!) Sparkles is a perfectionist. She has a deep desire to "do the right thing" and watches her humans intently. She isn't just listening for commands; she is a master at reading human body language, using it to anticipate your next move. Her focus is extraordinary. Once you have earned her trust, she will tune into your wavelength like no other dog. ** Her Best Life: Home is Where the Heart Is Some dogs thrive at busy patio brunches; Sparkles is the quintessential intuitive homebody. If your ideal weekend is quiet and cozy, you have found your companion.  She is fully potty trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash (allowing plenty of time for serious scent-work sniffing!). Inside the home, she is all about comfort. She will happily share the couch with you and will show her absolute, loving loyalty. Her "challenges" are simply her expressing her need for a safe space: The Vet's Office: Sparkles finds the veterinarian's office deeply overwhelming and needs a family prepared for this (special veterinary visits and medications may be required to manage her fear-defensive behavior). Meet & Greets: She will not shine in a loud, strange environment like an adoption event or a quick meetup. She needs a slow, patient transition. ** A Lifetime of Loyal Adventures (At Her Pace!) Don't let her cautious nature around strangers fool you—she is full of life! Outside: She is an all-star player of fetch and has never met a super-chewer toy she couldn’t enjoy. Road Trips: She enjoys riding in the car.   The Payoff: The wait is so worth it. Once Sparkles knows she is safe in her new home, she becomes a devoted, affectionate, and protective friend who will give you her whole heart. ** Sparkles’ Ideal Human: She needs a patient homebody who respects that trust must be built, not demanded. You understand that she may be cautious at first, but your commitment will reward you with a rare, deep bond with an exceptionally intelligent dog. Having another dog (any size) in the home would be a confidence booster for Sparkles. A cat in the home would probably be okay - she met her first cat, booped noses and then ignored the cat.  Sparkles has been looking for her "chosen one" to really connect with.  Is that you? ** Want to meet the intuition behind those ears? Sparkles requires a specific approach for a meet-and-greet to ensure she feels comfortable. Please submit an application today to start the process of becoming her hero.   The suggested adoption donation for Sparkles is $250, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavi/oral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than six months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger, than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. ##1954394##

Story
Hi there, my name’s Beans! I’m a 3-year-old Rottie mix… at least that’s what they tell me. The volunteers at the rescue say that I may have a herding breed mixed in me—have you heard me talk? I’ve got lots to say and plenty of energy to go with it!I’m a super friendly guy who loves people and having dog buddies to run around with outside. Seriously, if there’s running, I’m in. If there’s playing, I’m in. If there’s fun happening… I’m already there. I’ve got a big personality and I don’t really believe in slowing down, so I hope you’re ready to keep up!I should probably mention, I can be a bit vocal when I’m excited (and I get excited a lot), so I’d do best in a home without shared walls. I just have a lot of thoughts to share with the world! The humans here are still getting to know me, so we’re not totally sure how I feel about all dogs or kids yet. Because of that, I’d love to meet everyone first—both human and furry—to make sure we’ll be a good fit.If you’re looking for a fun, outgoing, full-of-life best friend who will keep you on your toes and make you smile every day… I might just be your guy. Please fill out an adoption application on our website to meet me and I`ll keep you updated when the volunteers learn more. xoxo, Beans
