Story
Kip and Kash came to us as strays brought in by a good Samaritan. However, we`ve since learned they were dumped by their owner! In any case, good for us as they are wonderful big beautiful boys and deserve a better life! Both boys are between 1 and 2 years old, we believe. Kip is the 113# Rottweiler and Kash is the 90# boxer mix. They seem to be dog friendly, people friendly (Kip can be a little wary of strangers and does not like things pointed at him, and we respect that!) but haven`t had them around kids or cats yet, mostly due to their respective sizes. They are fully vetted and ready to go! Kash did have his cherry eye fixed, so that`s fine now! Great boys who have a lot of love to give - they both think they are lap dogs - lol! Kip knows how to sit and shake and they both take treats very gently:) They are good together, but are not a bonded pair and so do not have to be adopted together.

HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email petbehavior@arl-iowa.org. ---- Can take some time to warm up to new people, but once you're friends you're in forever - She is a very big cuddle bug and will happily place herself in your space and demand pets - Loves to play with toys, specifically tennis balls- Recently went on a Dog's Day out and met a family, did well with the younger sister and mother, took some extra time to warm up to the father, and did amazing in the drive through waiting for her pup cup- LOVES back and booty scratches! - May take some time to settle into a new home, would benefit from a more mature home that can help her learn a new routine - Has met some dogs while in our care, she tends to prefer a dog with a similar play style, and will need a dog intro to make sure everyone gets along The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Age: 2yrs 2mths 4wks

Story
Welcome to rescue, Crayon!  She is a parvo survivor and getting lots of care and TLC right now.  Crayon is a Reagle, born approximately March 2026.  She is very sweet and would love to meet you!!   A Beagle and Rottweiler mix, often referred to as Reagle, is an uncommon crossbreed.    Crayon has tested negative and is ready for her next chapter!  We'll keep sharing updates and more information about Crayon as we learn more about her! Please Note:  Crayon came to rescue Parvo+ and is now Parvo free.  She is a survivor!!!   The suggested adoption donation for Crayon is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Note:Parker is a Rottweiler/mutt mix, they just didn’t have that option. Parker is one of the sweetest boys you can meet. He loves to cuddle and give you hugs when you sit down with him. He LOVES his sleep but once you pick up a leash he’s going wherever you go. Not only is he very loving but he also protects what he loves, he will guard you no matter what is happening. He is house trained and you never have to worry about him getting into trouble because he is very good at listening/trained. Just like any dog when he enters a new place he is very nervous and shy but once he warms up to you it’s like a whole new dog, he just wants to play and cuddle. I also live in Des Moines so it would be perfect if you live close to that.

Story
Riley is a beautiful 12 year old sweetheart looking for a calm home where she can spend her days bird/squirrel watching and napping in peace. She is fixed. Up to date on all shots and prevention treatments. She is absolutely free to a good and loving home. Will include all vet records, dog beds, collar and leash, medication & supplements, bowls and auto feeder. DNA test of her mixed breeds available. She weighs around 50# and does shed. She is very low energy. Has never had an accident or been destructive in any way. She would do best as an only dog and with a family with older or no children. Quirks: -she has arthritis in her back legs and is given a once monthly injection (Librela: about $90/mo at current vet) that has made her act half her age again (a savings card will be provided for the medication) - she is afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks
