Story
Bader, named after the famous Ruth Bader Ginsburg, is a ball of sweetness and love. She likes to hold your hand and give kisses to anyone within reach. She gets along with dogs, cats, kids and anything else you can think of! Because she has perfected the perfect puppy dog face, she was overfed and is embarking on a weight loss journey to be the healthiest version of herself. Bader enjoys walks and car rides followed by a good long nap. She is perfect for a first time dog owner who wants to learn the ropes of animal care. She would also make a perfect companion for anyone seeking love!

Story
- Very sweet and friendly guy who just wants attention and love; can seem stoic at times, but enjoys being petted and being wherever people are - Knows sit- Can be startled when he's disturbed while resting, so he may benefit from having a separate area to sleep or rest - May be a bit socially awkward with other dogs; seems to prefer low-key dog friends, and may prefer to be the only dog in his new home (dog intro required)- We don't know his history with cats This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 68 Age: 7yrs 3mths 2wks

Story
Meet Anja… a 5-month-old Rottweiler puppy who currently weighs 54 pounds. We expect her to grow to be between 80 and 100 pounds as an adult. Anja came into rescue as a local owner surrender and is now getting the chance every puppy deserves — to learn, grow, and just be a dog. She does great with other dogs and would absolutely love a playful canine companion in her forever home. A large male would be ideal. Another dog will help her burn energy, build confidence, and be a role model. Anja is still very much a puppy. She is learning her basic commands, house manners, and how to manage her growing size and enthusiasm. Anja needs a family committed to raising and training her using positive reinforcement. This girl LOVES toys. Balls, stuffies, mystery objects she found five minutes ago… if it’s in the toy category, Anja is all in. She’s the kind of dog who will proudly parade around with her prize like she just won a championship. She will require a physically fenced yard where she can safely run and play. Anja is the kind of puppy who will thrive in a home that understands large breeds and is ready to put in the time to raise her right. In return, she’s going to be a loyal, loving companion who is always ready to be part of whatever her people are doing. If you’re ready for a big puppy with a bright future, Anja is ready to meet you. Anja is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. Her adopters will be responsible for spaying her at one year of age. If you’d like to meet Anja, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Anja you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption Fee: $300

Story
King is a 1-year-old male Rottweiler mix with a big heart and an even bigger capacity for love. His story hasn’t been the easiest so far, but this sweet boy is ready to turn the page and start the happy chapter he deserves. King originally came into a shelter down south as an owner surrender. While we don’t know exactly what life looked like before, we do know that when he arrived he was terrified and severely underweight. Our team brought him up here to give him a true second chance, and right now our top priority is helping him gain some healthy weight and strength, as he’s still quite thin. Despite everything he’s been through, King has kept his gentle spirit. He absolutely adores people and is happiest when he’s close to his humans—whether that means soaking up pets or giving out affectionate kisses. He’s truly a loving, loyal boy who just wants to be part of a family. Because of his past, sudden movements or loud noises can still startle him, but he’s learning every day that the world can be a safe place. With a patient, understanding home, his confidence will continue to grow. King also enjoys spending time with other animals. He does well with other dogs and loves to run around outside with his canine friends. He has also done well around cats and kids. Since he’s still very skinny and may have had to compete for food before, he can resource guard his food from other animals right now. We believe this behavior will likely improve as he learns that meals will always come regularly and reliably. The good news? King already has some great basics down! He is fully potty-trained and crate-trained. While he still needs to learn some basic manners, he’s extremely food-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding for both him and his people. King would thrive in just about any loving home that’s ready to give him patience, kindness, and lots of affection. In return, he’ll give you unwavering loyalty and a lifetime of love. If you’re looking for a handsome, resilient dog who just wants a family to call his own, King might be your perfect match.
