Story
Meet Liesl… a 5-month-old Rottweiler puppy who currently weighs 44 pounds. We expect her to grow to be between 80 and 100 pounds as an adult. Liesl came into rescue as a local owner surrender and is now getting the chance every puppy deserves — to learn, grow, and just be a dog. She does great with other dogs and would absolutely love a playful canine companion in her forever home. A large male would be ideal. Another dog will help her burn energy, build confidence, and be a role model. Liesl is already working on her basic commands and doing well, but she is still very much a puppy. She needs a family committed to raising and training her using positive reinforcement. Liesl is also doing well with potty training, though like any young puppy, she will need to be let out more frequently than an adult dog as she continues to learn. When her foster parents are gone, Liesl is kenneled. At night she upgrades to sleeping between her foster parents in bed. She will require a physically fenced yard where she can safely run and play. Liesl is the kind of puppy who will thrive in a home that understands large breeds and is ready to put in the time to raise her right. In return, she’s going to be a loyal, loving companion who is always ready to be part of whatever her people are doing. If you’re ready for a big puppy with a bright future, Liesl is ready to meet you. Liesl is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. Her adopters will be responsible for spaying her at one year of age. If you’d like to meet Liesl, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Liesl you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption Fee: $300

This girl LOVES toys. Balls, stuffies, mystery objects she found five minutes ago… if it’s in the toy category, Anja is all in. She’s the kind of dog who will proudly parade around with her prize like she just won a championship. She will require a physically fenced yard where she can safely run and play. Story
King is a 1-year-old male Rottweiler mix with a big heart and an even bigger capacity for love. His story hasn’t been the easiest so far, but this sweet boy is ready to turn the page and start the happy chapter he deserves. King originally came into a shelter down south as an owner surrender. While we don’t know exactly what life looked like before, we do know that when he arrived he was terrified and severely underweight. Our team brought him up here to give him a true second chance, and right now our top priority is helping him gain some healthy weight and strength, as he’s still quite thin. Despite everything he’s been through, King has kept his gentle spirit. He absolutely adores people and is happiest when he’s close to his humans—whether that means soaking up pets or giving out affectionate kisses. He’s truly a loving, loyal boy who just wants to be part of a family. Because of his past, sudden movements or loud noises can still startle him, but he’s learning every day that the world can be a safe place. With a patient, understanding home, his confidence will continue to grow. King also enjoys spending time with other animals. He does well with other dogs and loves to run around outside with his canine friends. He has also done well around cats and kids. Since he’s still very skinny and may have had to compete for food before, he can resource guard his food from other animals right now. We believe this behavior will likely improve as he learns that meals will always come regularly and reliably. The good news? King already has some great basics down! He is fully potty-trained and crate-trained. While he still needs to learn some basic manners, he’s extremely food-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding for both him and his people. King would thrive in just about any loving home that’s ready to give him patience, kindness, and lots of affection. In return, he’ll give you unwavering loyalty and a lifetime of love. If you’re looking for a handsome, resilient dog who just wants a family to call his own, King might be your perfect match.
