Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Atlas is ready to be the king of your world! This handsome bridle boy is happiest when he's running and playing fetch.  Atlas is well trained and knows how to sit, shake, stay, lay down, wait, come, leave it and get up. Atlas is also muzzle trained, he prefers to wear this when meeting strangers or doing scary things like visiting the vet's office.  Atlas would thrive in an active home with adults only who are dog savvy and maintain a relatively quiet home life. We don't know all of his background, but we know that strangers in the home are scary to Atlas and he isn't sure if he's supposed to protect you from them or not!  Atlas loves to play, so another playful dog in the home would make for a perfect match! Atlas is kennel and potty trained, and also loves to give kisses. A 4-6 foot high fenced in yard would be a dream come true for ol' Atlas, here he could run and play to his hearts content and maybe learn some more impressive commands with a little help from his new family. If you are interested in learning more about Atlas please complete an adoption application for consideration at www.AdoptHope.org.  The adoption fee for Atlas is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives as well as a FREE obedience class through Cedar Run in Hiawatha.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
Do you set an alarm for 5 am to go running? Keep scrolling. Do you love long walks on the beach? Keep scrolling. Do you like a dog who sleeps in, waits patiently for you to wake up, and believes mornings should be taken slowly? Mabel could be your girl. Meet Mabel, a senior, deaf Boxer mix weighing about 45 pounds and fully committed to a relaxed lifestyle. Mabel will happily softly snore until you are ready to get up Mabel loves sleeping in bed with her people, and while she’s very happy to be there, she will need a little help getting in and out of bed. Once she’s settled, she’s not going anywhere—except maybe deeper into dreamland. Mabel came into rescue under heartbreaking circumstances. She was abandoned by the senior minister at Highway Christian Church in Bethany when he moved away, leaving her behind and vulnerable to coyotes. Despite that betrayal, Mabel still believes people can be good and is ready for a soft place to land. She does great with other dogs and prefers calm companions. Mabel has osteoarthritis in her front elbows, which have been fully evaluated with X-rays and a CT scan at BluePearl Des Moines. Because of this, her exercise needs are minimal. Being deaf doesn’t slow Mabel down one bit. She’s observant, gentle, and incredibly easy to live with. Her ideal home is one that values cozy nights, slow mornings, and unconditional love. If you’re looking for a sweet, snoring, bed-sharing couch potato who will happily match your pace, Mabel is ready to move in. Mabel is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped. She has had full blood work done and it looks great. If you’d like to meet Mabel, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Mabel you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption Fee: $300

Story
Meet Queen – The Hug-Demanding Diva You Never Knew You Needed Age: 9 years young Weight: 58 pounds of pure love Breed: Boxer (and part-time stand-up comedian) Do you ever wish your dog loved you just a little too much? Well, buckle up, because Queen is here to meet all your emotional support AND personal space invasion needs. She’s been waiting a whole YEAR for her forever kingdom – er, home – and she’s not giving up until she finds her royal subjects. Queen has one rule: you must hug her. Not optional. If you try to ignore her, she’ll launch herself into your arms like a furry torpedo and wrap her paws around you until you comply. Resistance is futile. Hugs now, questions later. She’s great with kids (tiny humans love royalty), adores adults (especially the hug-friendly ones), and can outlast puppies in the Zoomie Olympics. That’s right – this 9-year-old wonder woman regularly puts 6-month-old pups to shame with her energy. Age is just a number, darling. Queen is a velcro dog. Whatever you’re doing, she’s doing. Whether it's walking, road-tripping, or supervising your snack choices, she will be by your side with a look that says, “You’re doing great, sweetie.” She gets along with other dogs but would absolutely thrive as the center of attention. (What can we say? She likes the spotlight. She's earned it.) A physically fenced yard is a must for her royal zoomies, and in winter, she expects a wardrobe that reflects her regal status. Hoodies are non-negotiable. Queen has waited a long time for someone to say, "You're mine." Could that be you? Queen is housetrained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm tested. If you would like to meet Queen, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Queen you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Indoor homes only. Adopters within two hours of Cedar Rapids, IA only, please. Adoption donation $300.
