Story
Meet PJ - Chief Happiness Officer & Full-Time Best Friend If joy had four legs and a wagging tail, it would be PJ. This 1-year-old, 47-pound mixed-breed sweetheart is ready to trade his rescue story for a forever home—and he’s bringing nonstop love, enthusiasm, and tail wags along for the ride. PJs previous rescue organization/foster said he does well with kids (current foster in MN suggests older kids since his happy enthusiasm might accidentally knock the littles over), gets along great with other dogs, and is even cat friendly. He walks on a leash, though he’s still learning not to pull, and he rides nicely in the car—curious about everything along the way, as any young pup should be. He’s always up for an adventure, but just as happy to settle in for cozy time with his people. His favorite things include treats (he’s working on remembering his manners—sometimes excitement gets the best of him!) and soaking up all the ear scratches you’re willing to give. PJ sleeps quietly in his kennel at night. He may occasionally protest when first placed in the kennel, but he settles down and relaxes once he gets comfortable. He is still working on keeping his kennel clean and will need continued guidance as he builds consistency with potty habits. Outside of the kennel, he does well on a regular schedule and understands going outside to potty every couple of hours. At just about a year old, PJ has that perfect balance of playful puppy energy and growing maturity. He’s eager, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick through it all. If you’re looking for a joyful, fun-loving companion who will make every day a little brighter, PJ is your guy. Apply at campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $450 + tax

Story
Say hello to Dibow, a big-hearted Rottweiler with an even bigger love for snuggles. This handsome guy is the ultimate cuddle companion—he’ll happily curl up on you and soak up all the pets you can give. With his calm, loving temperament, Dibow is truly a gentle soul. At home, Dibow is as laid-back as they come. He’s not one to cause a fuss—unless someone’s walking by the house, and then he’ll give a bark to let you know. He is curious about other dog companions, but would do best with a slow introduction, to make sure everyone feels comfy before hanging out! Dibow’s got a few adorable quirks too—he tries to howl (emphasis on “tries,” which makes it even cuter), and when he flashes his charming smile, it looks like he’s missing a tooth. It’s the kind of goofy grin that’ll brighten your day instantly. What should his future family know? Dibow is incredibly loyal, eager to please, and totally treat-motivated. He just wants to make you happy—and get a snack or two along the way. If you’re ready for a loving, low-key, and totally lovable Rottweiler to complete your family, Dibow is your guy. Come meet him and get ready to fall in love! Adoption fee is $450 plus tax. Apply for this sweet big fella at campcompanion.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ridge was originally found wandering as a stray on a South Dakota Reservation, and he was transferred to MCHS on 6/13/2026 via one of our rescue friends. He is a gentle giant of a dog who currently weighs 76 pounds. He could be around 2 years old and is as nice as they come. He will be vet checked and neutered on July 2nd and his fee is $150. Ridge is a large mixed breed boy who has some merle markings and a tail that appears to have been docked, like a Doberman's. We're guessing he could be mixed with at least Doberman, catahoula, and perhaps shepherd. He might need a little basic training but he's willing to please and ready to learn. He loves people and has done okay with other dogs. We honestly don't think he'd have a problem with cats. He will require regular exercise. Kids over 8 would be best due to his size. Ridge is an incredibly social and nice dog. If someone is looking for a velcro dog, Ridge would be a great choice. He's simply the best! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 23, 2026, 1:19 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Quest was surrendered to the shelter on 5/9/2025 due to rental restrictions. He is 4 to 5 years old and was a very loved dog who had lived in his home his whole life. His owners were forced to relocate and couldn't find an affordable place that would accept dogs like him. Quest is a mix of boxer, Doberman, and pit bull, and he is big and strong. He has been fully vetted and microchipped. His fee of $150 is fully sponsored. Quest did live with his canine sibling in his home and was fine. They grew up together. We do think that he'd be okay with a mellow female dog of similar size. No smaller animals. He would do best in an adult only home. Teens are okay.  Shelter life has been hard on our Quest and he has lost a significant amount of weight. We've had him completely vet checked and this weight loss is due to the stress of the shelter environment. He would make a very loving and loyal companion. He needs a home! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ares arrived on 6/17/2025 as a transfer from one of our rescue friends. He's a big, handsome, stocky dude with a large capacity to have fun. He's around 6 years old and appears to be a shepherd mix of some type. There could be quite a few breeds in there. He has been fully vetted and his fee is $125. Ares is a large, strong guy who would prefer to be the only pet in the home. He's is pretty well mannered. He would love to be with someone who can give him the good exercise he needs. He's also pretty content to chill out on a couch with someone after playtime. He loves to play and is a big fan of playing tug with a strong rope toy. He's also very neat and keeps his kennel spotless. He's fairly easy going and doesn't demand a lot.   NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
