You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Quest was surrendered to the shelter on 5/9/2025 due to rental restrictions. He is 5 years old and was a very loved dog who had lived in his home his whole life. His owners were forced to relocate and couldn't find an affordable place that would accept dogs like him. Quest is a mix of boxer, Doberman, and pit bull, and he is big and strong. He has been fully vetted and microchipped. His fee of $150 is fully sponsored. Quest did live with his canine sibling in his home and was fine. They grew up together. We do think that he'd be okay with a mellow female dog of similar size. No smaller animals. He would do best in an adult only home. Teens are okay. Shelter life has been hard on our Quest and he has lost a significant amount of weight. We've had him completely vet checked and this weight loss is due to the stress of the shelter environment. He would make a very loving and loyal companion. He needs a home! He's a big, handsome, stocky dude with a large capacity to have fun. He's around 6 years old and appears to be a shepherd mix of some type. There could be quite a few breeds in there. He has been fully vetted and his fee is $125. Ares is a large, strong guy who would prefer to be the only pet in the home. He's is pretty well mannered. He would love to be with someone who can give him the good exercise he needs. He's also pretty content to chill out on a couch with someone after playtime. He loves to play and is a big fan of playing tug with a strong rope toy. He's also very neat and keeps his kennel spotless. He's fairly easy going and doesn't demand a lot. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Netta arrived from the city pound on 7/24/2026 when her legal stray hold was finished. She appears to be a pit bull type mix, possibly with boxer or maybe even pointer, and we're guessing she is 2 to 3 years old. Netta is strong, stocky and is enthusiastic in her affection. She will be vet checked and spayed on Aug. 12th and her fee is $150. We are still learning about Netta, but she's been a friendly and energetic girl so far. She does seem to have had a little basic training but will need some work on leash walking. She will require regular exercise as she is an active, younger dog. We do think she'd do okay with a male dog of similar size and she should be fine with kids. We have no way of knowing about cats. Then I could not easily get in the truck and my dad's new company said I could not ride with him any longer. The transition has been confusing to me after I made a long road trip from Ohio to MN where I met my foster family. I would bark at the door and outside. My foster mom thinks I was hoping my family would hear and find me. But I have lots of love in my heart and have opened it up to my foster family. I follow my foster Mom around like a Velcro dog. My favorite pastime is when the kids play with me. They squeak my toys and crinkle the paper inside. I get so excited when they do this. Sometimes I even bark at them to ask them to play. I have a white face but don't let that fool you. I still have bursts of energy. My foster kiddo discovered I fetch the ball one day. I love to bring it back. But when the foster dog jumped in front of me and grabbed the ball I got pretty upset. He is bigger than me so I feel like I have to let him know who is boss. It would not be a good idea to play fetch with another dog present. I growl at him through the baby gate when we eat our food so I food guard, as well. Otherwise, I am chill around him and we get along. I am 60-65lbs and I look so tiny. But I am pretty solid. I have not asked to jump on the couch, but I did whine a little to get on the bed. However, I am fine sleeping on my dog pillow next to my foster parents' bed. I fuss a little bit when put in the kennel, but then I calm down and nap. I do not pull on a leash. I do bark at other dogs. When I am riding in the car, I bark at anything that moves. My foster mom does not know if I am doing it out of anxiety from the move or if this is typical of me. But I am an all-around great dog. I am trained and my foster mom says I am easy to have around. If you have stairs in your home my foster mom wants you to know I am a little slow going up steps, but the vet did not find arthritis. He did say I need to lose 5lbs, otherwise, I am healthy. He said with my cute personality I will go fast. If you are looking for a pretrained smart, playful, but also calm companion I am the one for you. I will melt your heart with my soulful gaze, when I am trying to tell you something. And I am pretty vocal once I know you. This handsome fellow come from a breeder who no longer needed his services. I picked him up on 7/25/26 and had him neutered on the 26th. The first day, I spent time with him and loving on him. He just looked at me, somewhat confused as to why I was doing that. Since the 26th he has been recovering like a champ that he is and taking it easy! When I let him outside to go potty, he makes the rounds and then will come to wherever I am and lean up against me. He is in a 6x6 foot kennel in the house and hasn’t pottied in it one time. He did pee in the garage one time. He is used to being outside and will need some training in this area. He does know how to sit for a treat. He makes every step I do in the garden, thinking I should be loving on him instead of picking veggies, as he deserves. He lived outside in the fenced yard with a couple of other dogs. He has met my 2 through a pet gate and everyone has wiggly butts. He tries to hide his food and may be food protective. I normally do not feed mine together since one will eat all the food. He would rather eat his food off the floor but we are working on that. Doc is a Big boy and will be well over 80 lbs. He has the most beautiful shiny black coat I have ever seen! He's 10 yrs old and needs a place to retire and enjoy all the love he can handle, some rest and relaxation. I’m pretty sure he will be a Velcro baby. Not sure why she thinks that's so great it's what I do. I like to go in the same area which she also thinks is great. I'm wondering what's wrong with her, she always to one place too! Anyways, here's a little bit more about me: I'm okay in a kennel, but would prefer to always be with you. I don't like being left all alone, but I know you'll come back. And when you do man do I wiggle, like crazy. My foster mom says I'm the cutest girl ever. Doorways can be a little scary, but I'm quickly getting used to them. My foster, mom says, I must have been in a house before as most things don't scare me. I was like well duh, I know what the kitchen is. That's where all the good food comes from! I beg & you will not be able to resist me. I'm more comfortable around women than men, but I quickly warm up to men when they respect me. There are no other dogs here, so my foster mom does not know how I behave around other dogs, but she thinks that I wouldn't mind having a companion. I also like to catch flies and there's a bunny hopping around here that I'm interested in. Maybe I can catch it! From Zoey's foster mom: This little girl is dang near perfect. She is so polite, so stunning, has the best personality. Seems to be a real quick learner. For sure loves her treats! Rides well in a car, will just settle down and sleep. If you're looking for a girl that will seamlessly fit into your lifestyle, I think this is the one. I don't have any cats or other dogs here, so I don't know how she is around them. But since she liked the bunny, I’m thinking she might want to chase cats. I’m 11 years old but don’t let my age fool you. I’m good with being a couch potato but also good with running around all silly. I’ve been with my foster family for almost a month. At first she kenneled me and I did great in there. Now I have free range of the house. My foster mom works from home and I sleep in the dog bed in her office. When she leaves you can find me and my fur siblings sleeping on the couch or being apart of the neighborhood watch. I get along with both female and male dogs. I’ve been around a few other dogs besides my foster fur siblings and everything went well. I love to snuggle up in my dog bed or blankets near others. At night I sleep in the human bed. I can get up on the couch no issues but my foster mom’s bed is high so I use dog steps. I love to run and play outside and I recently started playing with dog toys. When someone comes to visit, I bark at first but then I get excited to meet new people. My foster mom has a fenced in yard so I can roam all over. I do love taking walks and walk very nice on a leash. I’ve never had an accident in the house while living with my foster family. We did know that his name was Rocky and that his owners were unable to keep him, which is why he went to the pound. He is an approximately 2 year old pit bull mix, maybe with lab. He's a little shy at first but warms up quickly and is loving and playful. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped and his fee is $150. Rocky is a young dog who has had a little basic training. He needs a home that can provide him with the exercise he requires. He did live with kids in his previous home. We do think he could do okay with a female dog with proper intros. We have no way of knowing about cats. He really is a honey! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Olive came to MCHS on July 12 with her four littermates after they were being fostered by another rescue and needed a new place to go. These pups were born on April 27th and their mother appeared to be a pit bull type dog, around 60 pounds. We don't know who fathered them. Olive is happy and healthy and has the classic puppy energy. She has been vet checked, microchipped, and received all of her age appropriate vaccinations, including her rabies shot, but is not quite old enough to be spayed. The surgery will be coordinated with her adopter once she is older. The spay is required by us and, along with the rest of her vetting, is covered under her $150 adoption fee. Because she is a puppy, Olive will need training in all areas. She's looking for a home in which she won't be left alone for long hours. She should do well with kids and male dogs and is young enough to learn to interact properly with cats. We are guessing she will be a medium-sized to large dog at maturity. She's a typical puppy, full of mischief and very playful! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
