Story
Meet Buggy – Certified Couch Connoisseur Buggy is what happens when a gentle soul and a throw pillow have a dog. Calm, quiet, and ridiculously sweet, she’s not here for chaos — she’s here for comfort, routine, and the softest couch in your house. She’s easy to leash, a dream to walk, and takes treats like a polite little lady (no finger casualties here). Buggy enjoys taking her time sniffing every interesting smell the world has to offer, because at 8 years old she knows there’s no need to rush greatness. Her hobbies include: daily strolls, serious booty scratches, and perfecting the art of relaxation. Buggy isn’t asking for much — just a comfy couch, a few leisurely walks, and someone to love her forever. And honestly? She’s earned it.

Story
Hello this is buddy he is a 8 year old pure bread Rottweiler. He is house trained, loves other animals and cats. He still has very much puppy energy. He isnt leash trained. Reason for rehome is we had another baby and he’s very rough with him he doesn’t know his own strength some times and bumps him down a lot so we have to keep him outside a lot more now. He’s become more destructive in the yard more vocal and very needy. He deserves more than just being outside all day or in his kennel.

Story
Meet Timmy — The Big Softie in a Rottie Suit.Timmy is a 4-year-old male Rottweiler mix who may look tough on the outside, but underneath he’s all soft edges and sweet intentions. Calm, mellow, and easygoing, he prefers a relaxed pace and likes to take his time soaking in the world around him. As he settles in, he’s showing more of his affectionate, gentle personality—and it’s a good one.Timmy already has a solid foundation in basic obedience. He mostly sits on cue, comes when called, and takes treats with a soft, polite mouth. He’s generally attentive and responsive, with a good start on manners that will continue to shine with consistency and positive reinforcement—though he may occasionally pass on treats, showing his independent, thoughtful nature. He enjoys attention and petting, especially once he feels comfortable, and really shines as a calm, close companion.Timmy is easy to leash (no dramatic performances here) and walks with a steady “let’s go straight ahead” mindset. He may pull a little at times, but overall keeps it to a light-to-medium level and settles nicely into walks. He can be a bit decerning when meeting new people, often taking a moment to observe(and voice an opinion or two) before deciding you’re worth his time, but once he warms up, he’s affectionate, loyal, and happy to be close. Because of his thoughtful, slow-to-warm nature, Timmy would really benefit from a relaxed meet-and-greet with the family pet to help him feel comfortable and show his true self. Give him a little patience and kindness, and you’ll see him blossom into a wonderful companion who just wants to feel safe and loved.

Story
Meet Tank – Your New Best Walking BuddyTank is a 6-year-old male Rottweiler with a soft heart, steady paws, and a curious nose that loves discovering the world around him. He walks beautifully on leash and enjoys strolls where he can sniff, explore, and take in all the good smells life has to offer. Tank was surrendered by his previous owner due to life circumstances, but he comes with a great history of training and manners. He is housetrained and crate trained, walks well on leash, has had obedience training, does not escape, and is not destructive. On a recent Doggy Day Out, Tank got to wade in the Rio Grande, walk under the cottonwoods, and get some admiring pets from customers in a local coffee house. He visited a couple of new dogs in their back yard and played and ran around with them, and saw chickens in their coop (which he totally ignored). Later, he went to the volunteer’s house, got invited to lay on the bed, chased and caught a ball, and lay down on the cool floor for a nap. This gentle guy is wonderfully polite with treats, taking them with the softest mouth. He especially loves enrichment time, like working on a snuffle mat and searching for hidden goodies. Tank leans into affection, happily soaking up pets and seeking out your attention. With his calm, mellow nature, Tank shines brightest with someone kind, patient, and loving. If you’re looking for a loyal, steady-hearted companion who is ready to share gentle adventures and quiet moments, Tank is ready to be your devoted friend.

Story
Meet Pepper! Pepper's birthday is December 18th, 2025. She came to us with her siblings and mom when she was 10 days old. Pepper came to us from a hoarding situation, where she and her family didn't have the best start. Her mother was starving and she and her siblings were very weak. But, she had one strong mama, and now we are delighted to report that the whole crew is chubby, happy, and healthy. We've watched Pepper grow into a wonderful young lady. She is incredibly sweet and smart. She does very well with the other dogs, cats, and kids in her foster home. However, Pepper does have some leash and barrier reactivity that has really seemed to hurt her chances of being adopted. All of Pepper's siblings have been adopted into their forever homes for months, but she is still patiently waiting her turn. Due to a history of reactivity that she has worked really hard to get a handle on, we think it's best if Pepper does go to a home with at least 1 other dog. Based on our observations of her behavior in different settings, we think that if she were to be the only dog in her forever home, the manners she has worked so hard to learn would start to fall away and some of that reactivity could return or worsen. Pepper can be shy when meeting new people and dogs, but once she has a moment to warm up, this girl is a wiggly little dream. She has a beautiful smile and she seems to wake up every morning just thrilled to be alive. Pepper loves to bounce, and wrestle, and wiggle all day long. She would make a fantastic companion for a family who can be a little bit patient with her as she settles in. Pepper is potty trained and crate trained, though of course we advise everyone that accidents are usually part of the adjustment process for any dog. Pepper does a great job on leash and we hope her future family is able to continue practicing her skills. She absolutely loves to play tug-of-war, and spends a good chunk of her afternoons playing with her mom (who is also still available for adoption) and her other friends in the yard. We'd also like it noted that this girl very well might be the fastest dog west of the Mississippi - she zooms like there's no tomorrow. If we could bottle her happy energy, well, it would probably end up being illegal. Pepper is spayed, up to date on all of her vaccines and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. If you have any questions about Pepper, our adoption process, or anything else, please feel free to email Bosque Buddies Animal Rescue at adoption@bbanimalrescue.org or call/text us anytime at 505-333-8980. **All adoptions are at events or by appointment only. ***Please complete an adoption application at: bbanimalrescue.org/adopt
