Story
Hi there, my name is Koda and I have come a long way since I first arrived at Stray Haven. I am a possibly Rottweiler mix, but the staff isn't entirely sure about my breed. I came to the shelter unsolicited and was in a pretty bad situation before the staff rescued me. I was very nervous and scared of everything, so they don't know much about my past. But now, after receiving lots of love and care, I'm ready for a new home. The staff has worked hard to restore me to good health, and I'm feeling much better now. I still have some nervousness, but I'm learning to trust people and the world around me.However, due to my nervousness, I wouldn't be the best fit for a home with small children. I just need someone patient and understanding who can help me continue to gain confidence and feel safe. Even though I haven't seen much of the outside world, I'm ready to find a loving family who will give me the chance to experience all the wonderful things life has to offer. If you think you might be that family, please come by and visit me at Stray Haven.Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
OJ.. this guy really is something special. He is such love bug. Like most big dogs, he is oblivious to his size and will not hesitate to snuggle his way right into your lap. OJ is still a very young guy and his mannerisms are quite puppy-like. OJ didn't have the best start to things. When he first arrived he was in pretty poor shape. Since being at SHHS he has really blossomed. He has been learning how to play with toys and his overall confidence has drastically improved. He has also gained quite a bit of weight and is finally at a healthy size. OJ's desire to please is so strong it can be overwhelming at times. He wants so badly to bond with his handler that sometimes his excitement gets the better of him. What he is really looking for is security and stability in both his person and environment. OJ is housetrained and knows basic commands. He even walks quite well on a leash. OJ does not do well with other dogs, but may be fine with cats. To summarize OJ: *Excitement level = Giant Puppy *Must be an only animal * Must be fed in a safe space *11/10 Snuggler Did we mention he's super duper handsome and the goodest boy?! If you feel OJ may be a good fit for your family, contact SHHS today to come and meet him!

Your eyes don't deceive you, it's me O'Malley! Aka the cutest, littlest guy EVER!! I originally came to the shelter with my ‘friend' Erin, we were left behind in our home, but were thankfully found be these hoomans! And they've been taking such good care of me. They feed me, give me toys and treats, and alllll the belly rubs, it's the best! My favorite thing is my walks, they make me so happy sometimes I even bring a toy with me to help contain my excitement, and since I'm so little, I walk so well. I'm truly the best guy, everyone tells me so and swears they aren't lying. Since arriving at the shelter, I've been reactive to other dogs, but I think once I'm less stressed, I'll come around. And in the mean time I can't wait to spend all my time with you and getting comfy. If I've caught your eye come on down to the shelter and meet me today! Kisses and slobber, O'Malley
