Story
Nickname: Inspector Gadget Time in Care: 158 days and still waiting Specter is a tall, leggy stunner with a sleek white coat and the kind of soft, expressive eyes that instantly pull you in. Likely a Boxer–Great Dane mix, he’s the definition of a gentle giant, graceful, goofy, and absolutely charming. This sweet boy loves people and gets wonderfully playful with his dog friends. He shines in calm, easy-going environments and does best with older kids, as too much chaos can make him a bit nervous. Specter is housebroken, walks beautifully on leash, and has a serious love for toys especially when he can parade them around proudly. While he isn’t able to live with cats, he more than makes up for it with his big heart, affectionate nature, and eager to please personality. After 158 days with us, Specter is still waiting for someone to see just how special he is. If you’re searching for a loyal, loving companion with charm, grace, and a delightfully goofy streak, Specter might be the perfect match you’ve been overlooking. 🖤

Story
Hello potential adopters, my name is Lady. If you’re looking for a dog to keep you on your toes, I may be the perfect fit! We’ll spend our days playing lots and lots of fetch. Are you into hiking, or hiking? How about cycling? I’m a very active girl with a need for speed and fun! I’m food motivated too. I’m looking for a fresh start and who could blame me after being abandoned by my previous owners. I was locked in a bathroom and they moved away. I’m doing okay though, these people try their best to keep me entertained but I would really love an active family of my own. One where I don’t have to spend my nights alone in a kennel while everyone else goes home. Do you think I sound fun or like a good fit? Please reach out to meet me if so!

Story
Godiva is a stunning 2-year-old female Boxer and Husky mix who combines the best of both worlds: she has the silly, affectionate goofiness of a Boxer paired with the intelligence and striking looks of a Husky. This means she's a high-energy dog who needs plenty of exercise—think long runs, active play sessions, and secure yards, as the Husky in her may inspire a bit of an explorer's spirit! Godiva is highly engaging and loves people; she thrives when included in family activities and returns that investment with endless loyalty and playful enthusiasm. Because of her smarts and energy, she needs a dedicated owner committed to consistent training and enrichment to keep her happy and well-behaved. If you are looking for a beautiful, athletic, and loving companion ready to be your adventurous co-pilot, Godiva is the perfect mix of charm and stamina.Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
Bunny — Your Next Happy Shadow & Adventure Buddy If you’ve been dreaming of a loyal, joyful companion, meet Bunny—a 1-year-old bundle of sunshine whose whole body wiggles with excitement the moment she sees you. She’s the perfect blend of playful energy and soft, snuggly sweetness, always ready to brighten your day. Bunny lives for morning kisses, yard zoomies, and any excuse to spend time with her humans. Whether you love hiking, exploring, or simply lounging with a furry friend by your side, Bunny is always up for the adventure. But her journey hasn’t been easy. Bunny arrived as a stray severely underweight at just 16 lbs, battling parasites and uncertainty. With proper vet care and a whole lot of love, she has made an incredible transformation—and now she’s thriving. She’s now fully vetted, spayed, healthy, and ready for the next chapter of her life. In her Dekalb County, GA foster home, she’s doing wonderfully with other dogs. She is good with kids 15+ due to her extra exhuberance, and hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but her gentle, friendly nature suggests she’d likely do well with feline friends too. And with the holidays approaching… Bunny’s biggest wish is a home to call her very own. A family who will continue her journey with love, patience, and joyful new beginnings. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary.     Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.   Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England.    Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada.    Visit www.pmarinc.org for more information, and to fill out an application. Story
Welcome Icey! One of our adorable “Weather Pups,” Icey arrived this weekend and is already melting hearts. At just about 4 months old, she came to us after being surrendered with her family to our Alabama rescue partner — and now she’s safe, loved, and settling into her upstate NY foster home.  Icey is beginning her puppy basics and learning the ropes of home life. She’s already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, making her ready to start the search for her forever family. This sweet pittie mix is great with everyone she meets — dogs, cats, and kids — but like all puppies, she’ll need continued training, consistency, and positive exposure as she grows. She’s absolutely adorable and full of potential.  If you’re looking for a playful, loving pup to join your family, Icey might be your perfect match!
