Story
Bobbi is also known as Roo in her foster home. Her foster mom says she is an absolute sweetheart and a gem of a pup. While still very young, she is a gentle soul and does well with animals and children alike of all ages. She is playful with other playful pups and respects dogs who don't wish to play. She can read a room well.  She LOVES stuffed toys and is gentle with them and hasn't chewed up a single one. She loves a good stick from the yard, and running zoomies around the whole thing!  She loves to cuddle and be pet and will melt right in your lap. She doesn't jump or nip, or do any of the typical puppy behaviors. A truly well-behaved pup who is happy to lounge around in the home and comes for pets when you call.  All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary.  Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.  Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. Story
Hello, I am Genevieve, a sweet 6-year-old Boxer Lab mix. I arrived at Stray Haven after my owner could no longer care for me. The staff was told that I am a very protective girl who doesn't like cats. They believe I may not have been around a lot of people before coming here because I can be a bit nervous when meeting new humans, I tend to hide if a big group looks at me. It is unsure whether or not I would do well with other dogs or children so I'd need to meet my potential family and everyone I would be sharing a home with. I am up-to-date on all my shots, flea treatment, and dewormer, plus I've been spayed and microchipped. The staff could tell you a lot about me, feel free to stop in and meet me as soon as you can.Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
Are you looking for an easy-going adult dog to hang out with? Stella has been back in rescue for more than 800 days waiting for her forever home. And that is a long time in dog years! In early 2020 Stella was returned to our rescue (through no fault of her own) when her family could no longer care for her. She has been doing great in her Binghamton, NY area foster home, but she is ready to find her forever home. Her foster mom says: "Stella is a bit shy and can take a while to warm up to new people. However, she is super smart, and sweet, and extremely loyal to her people once she knows them. She knows all of her basic commands, is crate trained, and loves walks and being outside, her favorite thing is to lay on the deck and watch the deer on the lawn as they walk by." Stella is having knee surgery this month but then we hope and pray someone will be ready to adopt this quirky but devoted girl. Stella recently had TPLO surgery and she is as active and silly as ever. We think Stella would thrive where she can be someone's only canine. However, Stella has proved to be good with her foster family's cats. Stella is an easy-going homebody who would be happy just going for walks, and hanging out with her people on the couch. Stella needs her own special person in order to be her best self. Please consider giving this sweet girl a second chance. Story
Mollie is a 2-year-old pup who was taken in by a partner rescue in TN, along with her 11 puppies. The puppies have all been adopted but Mollie still is waiting for her forever family. Mollie would be happy as the solo 4-legged kid or maybe ok with a friendly easy-going male dog who will let her be the boss She's very friendly with people of all ages and walks well on a leash unless she sees a cat or squirrel (strong prey drive). Molly is crate-trained and house-trained, knows "sit" and "stay", and absolutely LOVES playing with toys. She also loves laying in the sun and cuddling up to watch a movie,  Mollie was heartworm positive as are many southern pups, but she completed treatment and now she is spayed and ready to find her forever home. Mollie is currently waiting in a Burlington, VT-area foster home. Story
Once a PMAR pup, always a PMAR pup.  We pulled Chyna from the Brooklyn municipal shelter 9 years ago. She was adopted and lived happily until her family apparently lost their home and she was brought to a local shelter. Thankfully, the shelter alerted us (microchips work!) that they had her, and we acted quickly to pull her from the shelter — again. Chyna is easygoing and low-maintenance, loves to hang out with her people and amuses herself with her favorite toys. Chyna prefers to be the only pet in the household but other than that she is pure perfection. Please consider giving Chyna a forever home.
