I got Roxy from a shelter. She was very skinny. You could see her bones. I didnt want to leave her there so I took her and I had her and got her to a good weight. got her healthy shegained 12 lbs. She is a great dog housebroken and everything. She is wonderful with other people, other dogs just im 76 years old and she;s just too much for me to take care of. She needs a good home with love she deserves more. She thrives on attention and will do whatever to make you see that she’s a great companion.

Story
Melanie was born on 4-28-23, a rotti/lab mix. Sweet and happy girl and good with kids amd dogs. She is high energy and need exercise and a fenced yard to curb her enthusiasm! She is in need of some obedience training, but is food-motivated, eager to please and quick to learn with the right discipline. She is a happy-go-lucky girl and just wants as much attention as she can get! She would make a loyal companion for an active family and/or a family with another larger dog to zoomie with! WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $315 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. This guy came in as a stray with a harness on and looked pretty good. His family never came for him. He is a total love bug. The best way to know about one of our residents is to come and visit us on Fridays or Saturdays 10 to 1.  Update: I have been in a home for a few years but had to be returned to the rescue. Carrie is approx. 2 years old and 40 pounds. Kelly came from a rural NC shelter when she was just 3 months old. She has now been in rescue for almost 2 years. She is still very skittish and Leary of people. Therefore, she will need a very patient adopter. Carrie is also available to be fostered. Carrie is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. Please keep in mind that our dogs are shelter dogs. We have little if any information about their prior history. We can only tell you what we have witnessed since coming in to the rescue. Please be patient and prepared to train / retrain your new family member. Our pets need time to decompress once they are in a new home. if you have not heard of the 333 Rule, please google it. It will help you understand what your new rescue dog is going through. WE DO NOT HAVE CATS. THEREFORE WE CAN NOT TELL YOU IF ANY OF OUR PUPS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH CATS. Anyone looking for a smush face, unicorn? Layla , the boxer mix, is good with big dogs, little dogs, cats and kids. She loves balls and toys and is an all around great dog. Riding in the car seems to stress her some. But honestly if you are looking for the perfect dog Layla is your girl. OUR PETS ARE SHELTER PETS. Have you ever seen a boxer with a tail!? We haven’t either until we rescued sweet Ike. He was found as a stray and all proper steps were taken to find his owners and no one came forward. Ike is your typical happy go lucky Boxer. He is a big goof ball. He seems to get along great with all the dogs big and small. We don’t have cats so unsure on that. He loves playing with toys and is getting pretty darn good a fetch. We think Ike is around a year old or less and 45 pounds. Ike is vaccinated, chipped, neutered, and ready for his “Furever” home. If you think you are ready for a “super rare” boxer with a tail please reach out to Laura at madpawpatrol@gmail.com for adoption information and the fee. He is located in Hollywood SC but transport can help be arranged at the adopters expense.
