Story
Benny is a friendly, intelligent, active, people-loving Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever mix who is a little under 2 years old and about 70lbs. He was found on the streets of Houston as a young puppy and has been living with his caring foster parent ever since. We were contacted by his foster dad who was needing help getting him with a rescue so he could finally be adopted, and how could we say no to that face? Benny loves going on adventures and is a total outdoorsy man! He walks well on a leash and is easy to bring around with you wherever you want to go. He enjoys going on long walks with his people, playing fetch in the backyard, and exploring all types of new places. This is a dog you can take anywhere! He is so well-mannered and loves everyone he meets, especially kids, and every day is a new fun filled adventure for him! Benny is a very smart boy and catches on quickly to learning new commands and tricks. He is also very aware of what his people want from him and mirrors the energy of whoever is around him at the time. Benny is good with other dogs but prefers to not be dominated over by other dogs. He enforces his boundaries well and is very fair with his corrections, but he won't stand up for himself if the other dog were to escalate it into a fight. He would be fine being the only dog in the household, but an even-tempered laid back pup would make a great canine companion for him. Benny has not been in close proximity to cats, but he does like to chase the ones on the street as well as the squirrels that run by. We think Benny would be fine with a kitty in the house, but he may need some lessons in not chasing them if they run from him! Benny is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.

Story
Earl is a friendly, high energy, intelligent and loyal dog. He loves to play, especially tug. He is about 9 months old and is doing great with training, already familiar with several basic commands. He is housebroken and well behaved - a real gentleman in the house - amazing for a young, high energy dog. He shows a lot of impulse control for his young age. He really wants to be a good boy, and has been very quick to pick up commands. He would do great with an owner who loves to be active and spend time outdoors. He loves to get exercise, play and go on a long walk, but also likes to chill and nap in the house. He has been great with the kids (age 10 and 7) and has been fine with the small dogs in his foster home. He is so intelligent, it seems that he would be amazing at having a job, like a search and rescue dog - he just needs a living situation where he can run around some and a human who is dedicated to his training and well-being.

Story
Making this post is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. Gunner is my 3-year-old Rottweiler, and he is deeply loved. This is not a decision I made quickly or lightly, and if love alone were enough, this post would not exist. Gunner is incredibly loyal, smart, affectionate with his people, and full of personality. He bonds deeply and has so much love to give in the right environment. I want to be fully honest because he deserves the best chance at success. Gunner has reactivity issues and is not good with other animals, so he needs to be the only pet in the home. Because of this, I believe he would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands structure, consistency, boundaries, and the realities of working with a reactive dog. This is not about giving up on him. This is about trying to do what is best for him, even though it is painful. My priority is finding the right home, not the fastest home. His ideal person is someone patient, experienced, and committed.
