Story
For weeks… this boy was just there. Living on a construction site.Walking through wet concrete pours.Surviving on scraps.Trying to exist where he didn’t belong. The crews did what they could — hosing concrete off him, watching out for him — but he never left. And with a hard freeze coming, it became clear… he wasn’t going to survive much longer out there. So a promise was made:If he was still there, he was coming home. He was painfully thin. Exhausted. Dirty. Clearly injured. But gentle. Trusting. And grateful beyond words. He’s now safe and being lovingly fostered by the very person who refused to look away. This amazing Good Samaritan has committed to fostering and has already seen what a truly special dog he is — great with their family, gentle with kids, and respectful around cats. He appears to be a young adult (around 3–4 years old), not neutered, and likely full Rottweiler. One leg/foot appears injured, and there were signs of trauma from life on the streets. After a much-needed bath, there’s still concrete stuck in his fur — a reminder of the months he spent surviving on a job site. Despite everything, he shows no food aggression, has a calm temperament, and the kind of soulful eyes that stop you in your tracks. With warmth, food, and safety, his spirit is already starting to come back. He has a full vet appointment scheduled for Thursday, where we’ll get answers, imaging if needed, and a plan to help him heal. We are asking for help to cover his upcoming medical care. Donations will go directly toward his exam, diagnostics, treatment, and recovery. Donate via Venmo: https://www.venmo.com/u/BellesBudsRescue Donate or learn more: https://bellesbudsrescue.org/ Adopt / Foster application: http://bit.ly/BellesBudsApp He is a really good dog.The kind that makes you wonder how he was ever overlooked. The kind that just needed someone to say yes. If you’re able to donate, share, or send good thoughts his way — it all matters.Because sometimes the dogs who survived the hardest beginnings become the very best companions. Thank you for being part of his second chance. ##2647143##

Story
This gentle Rottie mama came to us after being left behind at BARC when another rescue took her puppy but not her. We couldn’t let that be the end of her story. From the moment we met her, her calm, loving spirit won us over. Ceylon is wonderful with other dogs, confident and loyal — exactly what you’d expect from her breed. She’s well-mannered, keeps her kennel clean, and loves soft affection (and treats!). She’s about 5 years old and would thrive in a home where she can finally relax and be someone’s cherished companion. She is heartworm positive, which is common here, but she’s already in treatment, will be just fine, and it’s not contagious to pets or people. This girl deserves a home, not a kennel. If you’ve ever considered adopting, Ceylon will make it worth your while. Learn more at www.scoutshonor.org .January 26, 2026, 2:08 pm

Story
Est DOB: 10/14/23 Approx. 30lbs Meet Sparky – The Pup With a Sparkling Personality &#226&#156&#168 Sparky is just as adorable and full of life as his name suggests! This 1.5-year-old bundle of joy is on the lookout for his forever home—and he’s ready to light up your life with love and laughter. Weighing just 26 lbs, Sparky is the perfect size for cuddling—not too big, not too small, and just right for snuggling up on the couch or tagging along on your daily adventures. Sparky’s journey began in a tough spot—he and his sister were found tied to a dumpster in west Houston. But despite his rough start, this resilient pup has blossomed into a playful, affectionate companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality.  We believe Sparky is an adorable mix of Boxer and Pug, but whatever the mix, he is a sweetheart. He may be a little shy when meeting new people, but don’t let that fool you—just offer a treat and a few gentle hugs, and Sparky will be crawling into your lap in no time. He’s a silly, lovable boy who adores belly rubs, enjoys going for walks, and thrives around people who offer him kindness and positive attention. Sparky is crate trained, house trained, heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccinations. Like any pup, he’ll need a bit of time to adjust to a new environment, but once he feels safe, his happy, goofy nature shines through. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share life’s adventures and snuggles, Sparky might just be your perfect match. Please consider making this gorgeous boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :   Apply Now (almosthomepetrescue.org) $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates. If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes May 23, 2025, 11:50 am
