Story
Delta is a beautiful ~4-year-old Rottweiler who should be closer to 90 lbs - but today she’s just 76 lbs, clearly underweight and recovering from a life that asked far too much of her. She came to us as a stray, but her condition tells a clearer story. We suspect she was used for breeding and then discarded. Despite that, Delta remains incredibly gentle - soft in a way that feels intentional, not broken. She is sweet, quiet, and deeply sensitive. She doesn’t demand attention - she observes, processes, and slowly leans in when she feels safe. It’s subtle, but it’s there. Right now, the world still feels overwhelming. Loud noises startle her, and sudden movement can make her pause. But in a calm, steady environment, she is already beginning to settle. You can see her trying. Nova is not difficult - she’s undernourished, overstimulated, and learning what safety feels like. What Delta needs: A foster or forever home with a calm, low-traffic environment A patient, grounded person who won’t rush her Consistency, structure, and space to decompress Someone who understands that trust is built over time What you’ll get in return: A gentle, loyal companion A dog who will form a deep, meaningful bond The opportunity to watch a dog regain both strength and confidence She will gain weight. She will gain confidence. What matters now is that she gains a safe place to land. Nova is ready—for a foster or her forever home.June 20, 2026, 7:46 pm

Story
This gentle Rottie mama came to us after being left behind at BARC when another rescue took her puppy but not her. We couldn’t let that be the end of her story. From the moment we met her, her calm, loving spirit won us over. Ceylon is wonderful with other dogs, confident and loyal — exactly what you’d expect from her breed. She’s well-mannered, keeps her kennel clean, and loves soft affection (and treats!). She’s about 5 years old and would thrive in a home where she can finally relax and be someone’s cherished companion. She is heartworm positive, which is common here, but she’s already in treatment, will be just fine, and it’s not contagious to pets or people. This girl deserves a home, not a kennel. If you’ve ever considered adopting, Ceylon will make it worth your while. Learn more at www.scoutshonor.org .March 8, 2026, 9:28 pm

Story
Est DOB: 10/14/23 Approx. 30lbs Meet Sparky – The Pup With a Sparkling Personality ✨ Sparky is just as adorable and full of life as his name suggests! This 1.5-year-old bundle of joy is on the lookout for his forever home—and he’s ready to light up your life with love and laughter. Weighing just 26 lbs, Sparky is the perfect size for cuddling—not too big, not too small, and just right for snuggling up on the couch or tagging along on your daily adventures. Sparky’s journey began in a tough spot—he and his sister were found tied to a dumpster in west Houston. But despite his rough start, this resilient pup has blossomed into a playful, affectionate companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality.  We believe Sparky is an adorable mix of Boxer and Pug, but whatever the mix, he is a sweetheart. He may be a little shy when meeting new people, but don’t let that fool you—just offer a treat and a few gentle hugs, and Sparky will be crawling into your lap in no time. He’s a silly, lovable boy who adores belly rubs, enjoys going for walks, and thrives around people who offer him kindness and positive attention. Sparky is crate trained, house trained, heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccinations. Like any pup, he’ll need a bit of time to adjust to a new environment, but once he feels safe, his happy, goofy nature shines through. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share life’s adventures and snuggles, Sparky might just be your perfect match. Please consider making this gorgeous boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :   Apply Now (almosthomepetrescue.org) $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates. If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes June 19, 2026, 7:08 pm

Story
Lola is the sweetest and kindest friend who only wishes to love you at all times. We are currently looking for any loving and patient persons/families to take in the 7 year old boxer mix. We are fostering her for a friend due to potential signs of jealousy (before, Lola was very protective of the baby), there was no harm but they did not want to take any chances. She is very friendly to all and loves to play, especially with rope toys. She will stick to you like tape and will want to be by your side almost all the time. She is house trained, knows the “sit, stay, lay down” command and responds to her name (Does need practice). She does not bark loudly and can be easily scared at times due to how poorly she was treated early in life. If you are at all interested or have any other questions please contact us.
