Story
If you are looking for a young, frisky pup who loves to play, Roady would be your new best friend. He could be part boxer or boxweiler with his furrowed brow but leans in like a lab, part heeler perhaps? Whatever the mix, Roady does love the car, travels politely, and would thrive with a daily dog park visit. He has a lot of stamina, runs fast, and enjoys chasing balls. He might do really well with agility training. Roady loves his meals and is working on "sit" to wait for them. He is a bit shy on occasion and it will take time for "come" to be second nature. Roady can get distracted outside as all his senses seem to be on alert. He has especially keen hearing and long distance vision, but does not bark often. He is a gentleman in the house as he is totally housebroken! Roady is still young and learning, loving a chew toy of any kind, especially plastic, so he will need heavy monitoring in a new environment for a bit. He takes calm and firm verbal correction well and is learning "off" and "leave it" commands. Having said that, Roady crates easily and enjoys being in and out of bed during the day on his own. He has done well being confined when adults are out for a couple of hours. Roady gets along well with other medium-sized dogs and follows after his foster brother on walks and visits in the yard. He is a great follower and would love another dog or playmate at home. He does very well on leash. If you are looking for a manageable optimistic, playful dog who can content himself without fuss, Roady will make a wonderful companion for the lucky family that chooses him.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Meet Angel… your future couch hog, personal trainer, and professional snuggler all in one Angel is estimated to be about 2 years old and a lovable Terrier/Boxer mix with just the right mix of goofy and sweet. She already knows sit, lay down, crate, and “bed” (basically a straight-A student), and she’s currently working on “stay”… although she will stay if snacks are involved She’s fantastic on a leash and lives for walks—whether it’s a quick stroll or a full-on neighborhood tour, she’s ready to go. Angel is great with other dogs and kids, making her the perfect addition to your love-filled home. Angel has seen cats but has not been allowed to socialize with them. Her hobbies include: • Giving kisses and paw pats • Snuggling like it’s her full-time job • Being adorably curious about everything including what's on the TV • Occasionally jumping at loud noises like a tiny, dramatic superhero She’s fully housetrained (yes, really), and ready to trade in her current digs for a forever home where she can love big and be loved even bigger. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a silly side and a heart of gold, Angel is your girl Adopt this sweet bean… because your couch has been empty for too long. Angel has been Spayed, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, tested for heartworms, and is on heartworm & flea tick preventatives. For more information, please visit our website at www.bhsva.org to fill out an adoption application. Angel's adoption fee to help with routine medical costs is $225.00.
