Meet Kai! If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will shower you with love, then Kai may be your perfect match! Kai is a beautiful 4-year-old Rottweiler who is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her vaccines. She absolutely adores people of all ages and is a big, affectionate love bug who just wants to be with her humans. She already knows some basic commands, is house trained, and walks fairly well on a leash. One of her favorite things is heading out for walkies or stretching her legs while playing in the play yard. Whether it's exploring the outdoors or soaking up attention from her favorite people, Kai is happiest by your side. Kai does have a high prey drive, so she is looking for a home with absolutely no other animals. She wants to be the one and only pet, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. If you're looking for a devoted companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Kai is ready to fill your home with love. Could Kai be the missing piece to your family? Come meet this wonderful girl and see if she's the perfect fit!Interested in adopting? Story
Meet Hocus !! This handsome boy and his brother Pocus (posted separately) ended up in an overcrowded shelter. Thankfully we were able to get them out safely and they are thriving! ***They need to go to SEPARATE homes*** Hocus is male and approx 9 weeks old. The person that turned them over to the shelter said they are Golden Retriever and Rottie mix but we aren’t sure. He is currently 16 pounds and will likely be a larger dog full grown. He will be given several sets of vaccines, deworming, a microchip and neuter as part of his adoption. Hocus is a happy, spunky and super fun puppy. He loves everyone and everything and enjoys life so much. Really a fantastic personality. He is a very energetic and active puppy that needs a very active home. He is fearless and definitely needs a firm consistent owner to transform all that confidence into positive behaviors. He loves other dogs and loves all people. He can be very rambunctious when playing so another active dog to roughhouse with would be best. He may be to much for dogs that aren’t playful. He is fostered with cats but we can already see he’s going to be to much for them. He tries to chase them and isn’t getting the concept that they don’t play like dogs. Hocus is very loving to everyone but currently may be too much puppy for smaller kids. He’s very excitable and mouthy when playing. Older kids and adopters that have a firm grip on working with puppy behaviors would be best. He is doing well with his training for his young age. He’s really starting to grasp potty training when taken out regularly. He still has accidents but is understanding the concept more and more each day. He is not yet leash trained. He does very well in the crate and doesn’t potty in it. He sleeps in the crate overnight currently with one overnight potty break. He needs crate training from his new family. He has a hard time shutting off his play mode and needs that calm space to learn to settle. He’s been great on car rides but will try to climb in your lap if not properly restrained or crated. Hocus has not had any issues so far with sharing food, treats or toys with humans or other dogs. He loves toys and anything active. He has a very high energy level. He needs structure (routine crate rests, mental enrichment, lots of play time) every day. He is a very energetic puppy. His foster says he has two speeds: asleep and chaos lol. Adopters should be aware that having a wild puppy this age is a lot of work and can be frustrating. He will have accidents. He needs to be in a puppy proof area when you’re not watching him as he chews things he shouldn’t. He needs regular mental stimulation, enrichment, rest time, and exercise. This is not a chill couch potato. He will need a lot of supervision but put in the work now and you’ll have an awesome dog. He’s a sweet boy with a desire to learn and a silly sweet personality. Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family’s lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting. Home and vet checks required. ♦️5ft or higher fenced yard required (dog parks do not count as having a fenced yard) ♦️He's to much for a home with cats or tiny children Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com directly with questions or to get an application. Story
I'm a wonderful mix of a Rottweiler and a Labrador Retriever, combining some of the best qualities of both breeds. From my Rottweiler side, I get my loyalty, intelligence, and protective nature. From my Labrador side, I inherit my eagerness to please, friendly personality, and love for being part of the family. I'm a big cuddle bug who thinks lap time is one of life's greatest pleasures. While I'm generally low-key and easygoing, I'm also smart, motivated, and quick to learn new things. I have a positive outlook on life and am always happy to join whatever adventure—or relaxing activity—you have planned. I'm house-trained and understand how to behave in a home environment. Whether we're going for a walk, spending time with family, or just relaxing on the couch, I'll be right by your side with a wagging tail and a smile on my face. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a loving heart and a great attitude, I might just be the perfect match for you!
