Story

Moose is 4 years old, he’s been with us since he was a puppy. He’s a big teddy bear and sleeps 16 hours a day. We’re having to re-home him because he does not gel with our daughter and although we’ve tried to make it work, it just doesn’t seem fair for him. Moose needs a home that’ll enjoy tug of war, lots of sleep, lots of treats and doesn’t have small children. He is perfectly fine with bigger kids. He’s a real sweetheart and we have never trained the lapdog out of him. We are looking for a home that will give him a great life. We have an XL dog kennel, dog bed, toys and food that we can offer as well.

Hickory is a male German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix November 1, 2021. This handsome boy just graduated from his Basic 1 Dog Training. Hickory lives with and gets along well with other dogs - large and small- as well as dog savvy cats. One of his favorite past times is playing and romping with other dogs of a similar size. He is both potty and crate trained. Hickory knows numerous basic commands including sit, down, stay, off, leave it and wait. Some of these he’s still working on perfecting, but he’s making great strides and when a high value treat is at stake, he usually rises to the occasion! Hickory has been known to chew on something he shouldn’t but with redirection and the command “leave it” he's learning quickly what is off limits. Hickory gets excited and can be a bit vocal in public. He will make a great companion to some person or family. His ideal home would be one where his people are not gone for long periods of time during the day, and one where he has at least one other canine companion. Juniper (Juni) is a large/XL (approx 80 lbs) Shepherd and Rottweiler mix born 11/1/21. She lives with other dogs her size and littles and well as dog savvy cats. She is potty trained, has been crate trained, and knows some basic commands. Basic commands include sit, down, stay, and wait; wait is a work in progress for high value items, also working on off and leave it; she has completed basic 1 training! She has recall at home, working on recall outside of home. She likes people and to play with dogs her size. She is working on not chewing things she shouldn’t with redirection, no, and leave it. HAPPIEST DOG EVER ALERT!! Hera is one happy, happy dog. She is described as not having a mean bone in her body and there isn't a single thing that she hasn't liked! Hera loves to go on runs with her human foster brother. Sometimes she pulls on the leash some, but she is correcting well. She is working on commands and manners. Sometimes she gets a little too excited about something and may jump, but she is learning quickly. Some of her favorite things are to play with her doggie foster brothers & sisters, who are each under 20 pounds. Hera understands that they are smaller than her and is so very gentle when playing with them. Toy time is the best time of day!! Hera makes all day long "toy time" though, as she has one in her mouth almost every waking minute. She is happy to share her toys and if one of the others wants one, she lets them have it, doesn't try and get it back and just goes and gets another. If no one is available to play with her toys with her, she is perfectly happy playing with them all by herself!! In the middle of all the runs, toys, playtime and learning; Hera loves nothing more than to love on her person, be in the lap, give sweet kisses and receive belly rubs. We are confident that Hera would do well in just about any household as long as she has exercise, a person who will love her as much as she would love them and a snuggle buddy for the middles!! Please be aware that all of our pets are in foster care in South Texas. They are transported to their new homes once adopted. We are 100% volunteer based, so it could take a day or 2 before we are able to process an application.
