Story
Born approximately September 12th 2013 Cadence is an energetic female mixed breed. Her too DNA is 23% percent Rottweiler and 11% Pug. (DNA results are posted) She is a medium /large size weighing about 60lbs. Cadence gets along well with other dogs and even cats (the ones currently living in her foster home) she may want to chase new cats until she’s figured them out. She is friendly to most everyone, however young children are not her jam, their squeals of delight and sudden fast movements, scare her and she may nip. Her current foster mom walks her daily and she really enjoys the exercise. She is kennel trained but also does well loose in the home. Cadence would love an active individual or couple who would hike, camp and take her on many adventures. Another canine companion in the home would be an added bonus. One that’s another size for play. She LOVES playing ball but doesn’t like to share the ball 😂 We will give preference to a home with fully fenced yard but an apartment with a well thought out exercise /potty plan might work. If children are living in the home, we ask that they are age 10 and up please.

Story
Meet Shadow, a four-year-old Rottie mix weighing 61 pounds.Shadow may have had a rough start, but you’d never guess it from her gentle, loving nature. She was previously owned by someone experiencing homelessness and was later abandoned at a house, but through it all, she’s remained incredibly sweet and trusting with people. This little lady looks like a “mini Rottie”—with those classic markings and a sturdy build, just in a more compact package. She has a calm, easygoing personality and enjoys getting out for walks, where she does nicely on leash. Shadow is outgoing without being overwhelming, and she seems happiest just being near her people. The good news is her hips look great on X-Ray and she doesn’t let anything keep her down. She has met another dog while with us and was very playful and vocal in typical Rottie fashion. We think she could do well in a home with another dog but if the dog is too big and rough when playing you may have to separate them as it might hurt her back. Smaller playful dogs or large lower-energy dogs might be best, or she could enjoy being an only dog. She already knows “sit” and has a soft, affectionate side that really shines once you spend a little time with her. X-Rays show Shadow had an old spinal trauma that will require life long meds, so she may never be a super athletic dog—but that just means she’s perfectly suited for a more relaxed lifestyle. She still enjoys her walks and spending time out and about, she just won’t be your next jogging partner. If you’re looking for a calm, sweet companion who’s been through a lot and is ready for a safe, loving home, Shadow is ready to be right by your side. This pet is available for adoption on 4.21.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Hickory is a male German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix November 1, 2021. This handsome boy just graduated from his Basic 1 Dog Training. Hickory lives with and gets along well with other dogs - large and small- as well as dog savvy cats. One of his favorite past times is playing and romping with other dogs of a similar size. He is both potty and crate trained. Hickory knows numerous basic commands including sit, down, stay, off, leave it and wait. Some of these he’s still working on perfecting, but he’s making great strides and when a high value treat is at stake, he usually rises to the occasion! Hickory has been known to chew on something he shouldn’t but with redirection and the command “leave it” he's learning quickly what is off limits. Hickory gets excited and can be a bit vocal in public. He will make a great companion to some person or family. His ideal home would be one where his people are not gone for long periods of time during the day, and one where he has at least one other canine companion. A secure 6 foot fence and children over 5 is required.
