Story
Caesar has made one thing very clear: he likes people. If you are nearby, he would much rather be with you than off doing his own thing. He is sweet, affectionate, and already showing signs of being a dog who forms strong connections with the people around him. He enjoys playtime and is beginning to come out of his shell a little more each day. New things and loud noises can make him a little unsure, and he tends to approach unfamiliar situations cautiously. As he gains confidence, though, more of his personality continues to emerge. We are still getting to know him and look forward to learning more, but his people-oriented nature has been impossible to miss.Caesar’s best fit:Because Caesar is still new to us, there is plenty left to discover about him. So far, he has been neutral around other dogs, though he has not yet completed formal dog testing. A patient home that can help him build confidence and navigate new experiences at his own pace will help him feel secure and successful. For now, Caesar’s biggest priority seems to be simple: spending time with his people. We look forward to learning more about him as he settles in and shows us even more of who he is.

Story
Hi, my name is Bear. My dad says I’m somewhere between 7 and 11 years old, but I still don’t act like an old man other than snoozing most of the day. I weigh about 44 pounds, love going for walks, and if you throw a tennis ball, I’ll be your best friend. A little over seven months ago, I was found in the front porch when my dad bought his house in St Albans. Nobody is quite sure how long I had been on my own, but I decided this place looked pretty good and stuck around. Since then, I’ve learned what it’s like to have a warm bed, regular meals, daily walks, and someone who actually cares about me. I’m house trained, crate trained, ride well in the car, and generally just like being near my people. I get along well with most dogs and have done well around kids. Unfortunately, my dog brother Earl has just not been accepting of another male dog and our trainer suggested finding me a new home. My dad says he is willing to travel to help me find that furrever home!
