Story
Coffee is a beautiful rottweiler who was at risk of getting shot after being dumped on a rural property. She was heartworm positive but has been treated for it. She has stubby tail. She has been good with male and female dogs medium to large but has not been around small dogs or cats. She is very very friendly with people. She walks well on the leash. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) All dogs/cats can be adopted in all locations below, regardless of where they are posted. Meet Ginny! Breed: Rottweiler Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge Age: Adult Weight: 60 lbs Foster home: Plover, IL Activity level: Low-Moderate Friendly with: Dogs and kids (not cat tested). She will help you herd any kids in the home so may not be a great fit for little kids) Sleep style: Loves her crate but will also nap on couch/dogbeds Meals: 1.5 cups of kibble twice daily, has requested more snacks but kindly don’t even try green beans :) Bark-o-meter: 5/10 Shedding meter: 9/10, needs consistent brushing Best features: Her beautiful, soulful eyes and her nubby tail Favorite season: Fall, she’s too hot in summer and doesn’t love water (but will tolerate a bath or spa day!) Signature color: Purple Fashion: Anything a busy mom would wear at a rushed school drop off, complete with a messy mom-bun! Walk out song: Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison Fun fact: She loves to dig/burrow, especially in a pile of blankets. You can never be too cozy! Personality: playful, goofy, couch potato, sweet, shy, attention hog :) Spayed ✅ Microchipped ✅ Crate trained ✅ Housebroken on a routine ✅ UTD on vaccinations ✅ UTD on preventatives ✅ Ginny was found as a pregnant, stray in Georgia. She was lucky and became an Albert’s dog and has been a fantastic mom to 5 beautiful puppies. Her puppies have found loving families and now it’s sweet Ginny’s turn so find her forever home. This beautiful gal has some hip/elbow dysplasia but low cost meds/supplements keep her feeling great. Ginny would love a pet in the home that matches her gentle energy but would also be fine as a solo dog. She’s the perfect mix of playful and couch potato :) Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
Meet Jax! Nickname: Jackson Brown, Jax of All Trades Breed: Rottweiler mix, possible Cattle Dog? Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge Age: senior Weight: 106 lbs, but I am trying to be less curvy! Fun fact: despite my weight, I can jump up on the couch and make myself at home. Did you know: I grew up around lots of different animals (like chickens and bearded dragons) Foster home: Hartland, WI Home state: Wisconsin Activity level: Medium. Friendly with: people, dogs, and all sorts of other animals. I haven't been cat tested, but because I am good with so many types of animals, it is likely that I would do just fine. My previous owners said I did well with kids, but I do not interact with children in my foster home. Sleep style: I currently sleep on a dog bed on the floor, but just wait til I shed these extra pounds and can jump up on the bed with you! I will be the big spoon, ok? Meals: reduced fat/ protien kibble, 1.5 cups twice a day. This is a bit lower than recommended, but I have a lot of pounds to lose to get healthy (like 30 pounds, sadly) Snore-o-meter: 2 Bark-o-meter: 4 I bark at others, when it seems like I want to play. I don't move around so well with all this extra weight, so I have to ask the other dogs to come to me. Shedding meter: 7, but likely because it is spring, that magical time of year when we blow our winter coat! Fart-o-meter: 2 Fashion: a gold chain and a slouchy Kangol hat Signature color: Red Walk out song: I Need Love by LL Cool J Favorite season: Spring (really any season when I can go for walkies with my human!) Personality: Cuddly, laid back, adventurous on walks Best feature: My loyalty and love. I just want to be your forever dog. Signature move: Letting the wind blow through my fur, window down in the car, on a sunny day Loves: Food (really love my foster dad's chicharrones!), SNIFFari in the yard, Lazy Sunday, hanging out on the couch, walkies, car rides, cuddling with you Bucket list: learning to waterski, cutting my own rap album, finding my forever family Jax is super housebroken and has a solid bladder, so no worries about accidents in the house. He loves walks, which are wonderful for helping him lose his extra weight. He is currently on thyroid meds and glucosamine chews, but is a pretty healthy older guy. He enjoys chew toys and balls and just generally being a dog. Neutered Microchipped Housebroken Takes treats gently Walks well on a leash Excellent in car (requires help getting in/out) Roams freely when home alone UTD on vaccinations UTD on preventatives Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Introducing Tutti, the lovable Boxer mix with a heart full of affection and a zest for life! Hi, I'm Tutti, a spirited and affectionate Boxer mix ready to bring joy to your life! With my charming personality and playful nature, I'm the perfect companion for anyone seeking a loyal and loving pet. I absolutely adore my humans and thrive on cuddles and quality time together. Whether we're snuggled up on the couch or enjoying a leisurely walk in the park, I'll be right by your side, wagging my tail with excitement. I find great pleasure in the company of my loved ones and will shower you with endless affection and loyalty. One of my favorite pastimes is chasing balls and toys. Throw one my way, and I'll happily engage in an enthusiastic game of fetch. I'm always up for outdoor adventures, so count me in for long walks, hikes, or exploring new places. The fresh air and open spaces truly bring out the best in me! Having a four-legged friend unfortunately isn't going to be in the cards for me. I'll do best in a home where I am the only pet. I take pride in my impeccable house manners. I am housebroken and have mastered the art of kennel training, though I must admit that I have a soft spot for the couch or your cozy bed. After a day full of activities, nothing makes me happier than curling up beside you for a well-deserved snuggle session. If you're looking for an affectionate, fun-loving, and loyal companion, look no further than me, Tutti! Together, we'll create cherished memories and embark on countless adventures. I'm ready to become an integral part of your loving home and bring an abundance of joy and companionship into your life. So, what are you waiting for? Let's start our incredible journey together! **Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Wisconsin applications are priority, but Illinois applications will be considered if no small children are present in the home, the home is owned, and excellent vet reference can be provided. We cannot process applications from other states. Adoption fee is $350 unless otherwise noted above. Puppies under 1 year of age accept application for families with children over 6 years of age for large breeds and over 8 years of age for small breeds. Since they are still puppies, dogs under 1 will require a basic obedience and puppy training class, and spay/neuter at the owners expense.
