Meet Kaiser! Kaiser is a gorgeous and energetic boy looking for a family that appreciates silliness and unconditional affection. He is about 4 years old. Here’s what his foster says about him: “We have been fostering Kaiser the past two weeks and we just adore him to pieces. Kaiser is playful, active, confident and teachable. Perfect for someone looking for a walking/running/hiking buddy. He is extremely human-friendly and would flop over for belly rub anytime anywhere. Kai is very food motivated, loves hoses and sprinklers, a very gentle eater, is fully crate trained, housebroken, doesn’t play fetch and doesn’t appear to have any separation anxiety. No issues with kids as far as we can tell. ❤️ But Kai gets jumpy and reactive when there are cats/lizards/squirrels around. He has a very strong prey drive and the wolf in him goes full throttle when he senses a potential prey is near. This means Kai would do best in a home with no cats or small animals, though he may do fine with the right dog. Moreover, he needs plenty of space to roam. His ideal human is someone who is patient, physically strong, understanding and knowledgeable in helping him manage his prey drive.” One of our volunteers has been spending time with Kai and has brought his samoyed along plenty of times and they got along great. He also did well at the shelter with some dogs. This is why we’re calling him dog-selective. Meet Rocky 🤍 Rocky is a stunning, confident samoyed/husky (we think) who has already beaten the odds. He was part of a group of 5-6 dogs surviving together in a park until a kind woman stepped in and saved not just him—but his two companions, Jett and Frannie. Rocky naturally took on the role of leader for the trio. He’s confident, aware, and looks out for his friends—but he’s not pushy or difficult. With people, he’s affectionate, social, and loves attention. He’s the kind of dog that turns heads everywhere he goes and then wins hearts the second you meet him. He walks well on leash, enjoys being out and about, and truly thrives when he has a person to connect with. At home, he’s a big, cuddly husky who would happily relax near you after getting his exercise. Rocky does well with other dogs, especially those with more easygoing or non-dominant personalities. Because he’s used to being the leader, he does best with dogs who don’t challenge him. Rocky is bonded with Jett and closely connected to Frannie, and it would be incredible to see him adopted with Jett, or even all three together. That said, we understand that’s a big ask, and Rocky can be placed on his own in the right home. Rocky will need a home that understands the breed—he’s active, intelligent, and will need proper exercise, structure, and a secure yard (he can be an escape artist if bored or under-stimulated). What you’ll get in return is a truly special dog—loyal, engaging, and full of personality. Hi! I‘m Milo - a 4-5 year-old Samoyed/Husky mix looking for an experienced owner who‘s ready to match my energy and my needs. I‘m loyal, athletic and I genuinely thrive when I have a person who‘s committed to working with me consistently. I know my commands (sit, down, stop, heel, come, mark/hop etc.) and do well with structured training. I love runs (but only 3-4km), adventures, and being your sidekick - and I’m equally happy winding down on a rainy of good day outside. Where I need the right fit: I‘m reactive to dogs on leash, so I do best in a lower-traffic environment - think spacious yard, quieter neighborhood, or rural/suburban setting without constant dog congestion. You should be someone who‘s had dogs before, be willing to learn or understand that reactivity is manageable (not a flaw), and can offer me consistent calm leadership. If that sounds like your life, I’m ready to be your dog and best friend! I‘m currently in BC, Canada, but can be transported elsewhere in Canada or the continental US.
