Mareep is the sweetest most gentle boy! Mareep loves to be loved. He likes to roll over for belly rubs and he is a total cuddle bug. His foster says that he appears to be potty trained so far and that he’s been friendly with everyone he’s met, including kids and other dogs. He’s still learning leash manners and can show some prey drive on walks, but he’s improving with a no pull harness and guidance. Mareep would be a great match for someone who wants a loving companion and is happy to keep building his confidence and basic skills. Overall he is a sweet and easygoing guy who is ready for his forever family!

Adoptable Henry is ready for his forever home! He came to us in rough shape, but he’s come a long way. He’s been neutered, had entropion surgery, and is fully recovered! Henry is still learning to trust the world. He will need some training and we will include the initial training session with his adoption! He can be insecure and easily startled, but once he settles in he’s goofy, loving, and very affectionate. He likes other dogs and wants to play, but he’s still figuring out boundaries and confidence. At his current foster home he loves laying on the deck and watching the birds. He likes being told he’s a good boy and loves getting head scratches. He craves love and assurance. Awwooooo!!! Adopt me! LAKOTA is an affectionate, gentle, playful (and at first - a little bit shy). but is now available for adoption to the public!! Background: Lakota was picked up as a stray on 7/27 and brought to a shelter. He was thin and leggy, and originally thought to be a wolf hybrid (and therefore rescue only to wolf-sanctuaries). He stole our heart and we advocated for him by presenting info to the staff which gave them the resources to properly phenotype him. We also presented his photos & videos to other rescue groups that specialize in Northern breeds who also weighed in. Our favorite, wolf-sanctuary-sister-rescue and friend, Dr. Lorin Linder, Ph.D., MPH. of Lockwood Animal Rescue Center also reviewed the photos/videos and provided her expert opinion to the shelter. He's now been properly labeled as an Alaskan Malamute mix and because of his lovely, friendly temperament, can become the forever companion to a very lucky person or family. Despite all of Lakota's people-friendly qualities, Lakota is reactive to other dogs so only adopters with experience with strong, Northern breed dogs will be considered, and he will not be placed in a home with other dogs or pets.
