Thankfully, I was saved just in time, and now I’m ready to find my forever family and begin a beautiful new chapter.    MY HEALTH  • Neutered & healthy with no known health issues • All vaccinations up-to-date    MY PERSONALITY  I’m a friendly, loving boy who truly adores both people and my dog friends. Volunteers and staff are always complimenting how well-behaved, gentle, and sweet I am. They say I have such a kind soul, and any lucky family who welcomes me home will be showered with loyalty and love. One of my special talents is looking into your eyes and communicating softly with my sweet facial expressions — I have a way of melting hearts without even trying. And trust me, I’m even cuter and more handsome in person! I love playing with toys and have a fun, energetic side that keeps life exciting. I absolutely love soaking up love and attention from the volunteers and staff, and I happily lean in for pets and cuddles whenever I can. Being close to my people makes me the happiest, and I even allow myself to be picked up and held. I haven’t had much experience with children under 13 yet, but with my gentle and friendly nature, I’m confident I’ll do well with respectful, kind kids who understand how to be sweet with me. · With Dogs: I love playing with my dog friends and meeting new pups along the way. Playtime is always a highlight for me, and I enjoy making new canine companions. I generally feel most comfortable with dogs my size or smaller, where we can have fun and interact in a way that feels balanced and happy for everyone. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. I’m also well-adjusted with my potty routine and can use both indoor pee pads and go outdoors. I would even let my kennel mate take my food because I was too discouraged to stand up for myself. Seeing that, the volunteers gave me extra care and attention, and little by little, I began to feel safe again. Now that I’m in the care facility, surrounded by love and kindness, I’ve opened up so much. My sweet, affectionate personality has truly blossomed. I’m a bright, happy boy with a super handsome smile, and I get along well with both people and dogs. 🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster home Samuel is a 2-year 8-month-old male Samoyed-Jindo mix, weighing 18.7 kg. At just six months old, Samuel was placed on the euthanasia list at a city shelter along with his sibling, Yuel. Thankfully, they were both rescued, and he is now staying at our training center, slowly regaining his trust in people and desperately hoping to start a new life with his forever family. Samuel’s personality is very gentle and non-aggressive. However, due to his traumatic past, he tends to be wary of strangers and takes time to warm up to new people. When he first arrived at our training center, he was very shy, but after a few days, he gradually opened up and revealed his naturally sweet and affectionate personality. Because he does not easily approach unfamiliar people and will require ample time and patience to adjust, extra care should be taken during walks to prevent any escape attempts, and household entryways should be securely managed until he fully bonds with his new family. Like a typical Jindo mix, Samuel has an independent streak. However, he also strongly exhibits the Samoyed’s affectionate nature and responsiveness to human connection. Once he builds trust, he expresses deep affection. Samuel gets along well with other dogs and has formed a particularly strong bond with his sibling, Yuel. Since they have spent so much time together, he may experience separation anxiety if they are apart, and this should be considered when adopting. He currently goes outside for bathroom breaks three times a day and enjoys running freely with his canine friends in the exercise yard. However, during the adjustment period in a new home, occasional accidents may occur. Once he settles in, he should quickly adapt to an outdoor potty routine again. It is recommended to start taking him on walks only after he has bonded with his new family. Due to his Jindo mix heritage, he has a strong homing instinct. If he is suddenly taken far away or travels by plane, he may become confused and instinctively try to find his way back home.
