In 2024, I was rescued alongside my friend Ciel, leaving that life behind for the very first time. Now I’m learning what it means to be safe, cared for, and loved. I may still be discovering the world, but I’m ready for a new beginning with my forever family.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Miel and I’m the kind of pup who brings warmth wherever I go! I’ve been told I have that “just right” personality—gentle, easygoing, and quietly bright. I’m all love. I truly enjoy being around humans, and I naturally draw affection wherever I go. Being close to you, getting attention, and sharing calm moments together makes me happiest. I’m also quite smart and observant, always taking in what’s around me. If you’re looking for a sweet, well-balanced companion who will fit right into your home and heart, I think I might be the one you’ve been waiting for.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m a very loving and people-friendly dog! I don’t just adore the people I know, I’ll happily walk right up to new faces, lean in for cuddles, and let them pet me right away. You can comfortably pick me up by supporting me under my belly. I’m perfectly okay being held like that. I haven’t had the chance to meet children under 13 yet, so I may need a gentle and thoughtful introduction. · With Dogs: I’ll politely go up to say hello to other dogs, even if we’ve just met, but I’m not really one to jump into play. I tend to keep things simple and move along. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy getting outside and spending time in the fresh air, but I’m not overly energetic. After a nice outing, I’m perfectly happy to relax and rest quietly. I’ve had plenty of experience on walks, so I stay close, don’t pull on the leash, and follow my person really well.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m very gentle with people around food and don’t feel the need to guard it. But when I’m eating, I do like a bit of space from other dogs and might give a small growl if they come too close. I really enjoy being around my people, so while I’m doing okay right now, I may need a little help learning to feel fully comfortable when I’m alone. If there’s something I want, I’ll let you know with a little bark—it’s my way of communicating. I settle down calmly in my kennel and rest without any trouble. Thankfully, I was rescued in time and given a second chance at life. Now, I’m safe and ready to leave my past behind as I search for a loving forever family who will give me the care, comfort, and happiness I’ve been waiting for.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m your sweet Samoyed! Sammies are known for being beautiful, gentle, and loving, and that describes me so well. I’m very friendly with people and truly enjoy being around my humans. And if you think I look good in photos and videos, I’m even more beautiful in person.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m incredibly friendly with people and love greeting everyone I meet. To me, everyone is a new best friend! I’m very comfortable being handled and allow myself to be picked up with ease, making me an easygoing and affectionate companion. · With Dogs: I like to greet new dogs, but I don’t jump into play right away and prefer to take my time. I’m more independent and often enjoy doing my own thing, while still being friendly and comfortable around other dogs. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it’s going for walks or exploring, and once I’ve had my activity, I’m more than happy to come inside and snuggle up. I have a nice balance of being active and then settling into a calm, cozy companion.   TRAINING & HABITS I can pull on leash at times, especially when I’m excited, but I follow my handler’s lead very well and continue to improve. I have good manners around food with people, though I can be a bit sensitive if other dogs are nearby during mealtimes. I don’t currently show separation anxiety, but I do form strong bonds with my person and may need some support during the initial adjustment period. With gentle training and consistency, I can learn to feel comfortable and patient when waiting for my family to come home. I may bark occasionally when I’m looking for attention, but I’m overall a calm and well-mannered girl. I know how to rest quietly in my kennel and settle down with ease. I also prefer to do my business outdoors and do best with a consistent routine.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. When we first meet, I can be slightly cautious at first, but it doesn’t take long— I warm up and become comfortable. Once I do, you’ll see how much I love affection. I enjoy being petted and even love being brushed. I’m very gentle with people and get along well with other dogs. 🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster home Samuel is a 2-year 8-month-old male Samoyed-Jindo mix, weighing 18.7 kg. At just six months old, Samuel was placed on the euthanasia list at a city shelter along with his sibling, Yuel. Thankfully, they were both rescued, and he is now staying at our training center, slowly regaining his trust in people and desperately hoping to start a new life with his forever family. Samuel’s personality is very gentle and non-aggressive. However, due to his traumatic past, he tends to be wary of strangers and takes time to warm up to new people. When he first arrived at our training center, he was very shy, but after a few days, he gradually opened up and revealed his naturally sweet and affectionate personality. Because he does not easily approach unfamiliar people and will require ample time and patience to adjust, extra care should be taken during walks to prevent any escape attempts, and household entryways should be securely managed until he fully bonds with his new family. Like a typical Jindo mix, Samuel has an independent streak. However, he also strongly exhibits the Samoyed’s affectionate nature and responsiveness to human connection. Once he builds trust, he expresses deep affection. Samuel gets along well with other dogs and has formed a particularly strong bond with his sibling, Yuel. Since they have spent so much time together, he may experience separation anxiety if they are apart, and this should be considered when adopting. He currently goes outside for bathroom breaks three times a day and enjoys running freely with his canine friends in the exercise yard. However, during the adjustment period in a new home, occasional accidents may occur. Once he settles in, he should quickly adapt to an outdoor potty routine again. It is recommended to start taking him on walks only after he has bonded with his new family. Due to his Jindo mix heritage, he has a strong homing instinct. If he is suddenly taken far away or travels by plane, he may become confused and instinctively try to find his way back home. To prevent this, walks should only begin after he fully recognizes his adopter as family. Even then, a double leash or harness is essential for safety. Samuel still carries emotional scars from his traumatic past and may be shy and cautious at first. However, for those that are willing to endure that initial period and patiently wait for his trust, Samuel will become the most loyal and loving lifelong companion.
