Just put on his harness, and he'll start hopping with excitement, ready to head out the door with you.Quick Facts: Breed: Samoyed Jindo mix · Sex: Male · Born: June 2022 · Weight: 34 kg · Location: Korea · Traits: Calm, gentle, easygoing · Health: Neutered, vaccinatedBackground: Dahaeng was rescued in July 2023 from a city shelter in Korea. Even then, he showed no fear of people. He lived at our partner shelter until May 2024, when he was adopted to a home in Germany. Sadly, that adoption didn't work out. He became very afraid of the boyfriend in the home, and in January 2025 the shelter brought him back to Korea. We don't know exactly what happened there, but since then, he has been nervous around men. At his current shelter, he's relaxed and content.Personality: Dahaeng is a boy who loves his walks more than anything. He knows exactly what a harness means, and the moment it goes on, he starts hopping in place. When someone comes to his kennel in the morning, he follows them around with eyes that clearly say, "Let's go for a walk." His favorite things are walks and treats. He isn't a fan of nail trims, and he can be shy around men. His energy level is low. New people, places, and objects catch his curiosity for a moment, but he soon loses interest and heads to his own comfy spot to rest. When he's on his own, he mostly lies down and naps.Compatibility: Dahaeng is comfortable with women, but he's timid and nervous around men in general. When a man he doesn't know comes into the room, Dahaeng avoids him, walks away, and sits quietly in a corner. That said, he's comfortable with some of the male staff at the shelter and with our vet. He isn't reactive toward men. Unfamiliar men simply make him a little nervous. He has met a child of about 10 who visits with a parent, and he showed little interest. He loves being petted and especially enjoys a good scratch on his rump. His paws are his one sensitive spot.Dahaeng lived with a cat during his time in Germany. He paid little attention to the cat and would happily lie down and sleep right beside it.Dahaeng gets along well with other dogs. He's calm that he does well with small dogs, and he plays nicely with dogs his own size. His style is to stay quietly by a friend's side, and he doesn't guard his food or toys at all.Behaviours & Training: Dahaeng goes to the bathroom outdoors and lies down to rest quietly in his kennel. He walks well on a leash and harness without pulling. When another dog comes close, he only turns his head to watch, and when you say "Dahaeng, let's go," he heads straight forward with you. In the car, he pants a little and enjoys looking out the window. He behaves well at the vet. Bath time and brushing go smoothly, though he doesn't like the blow dryer. He has no chewing habits. He knows his name, though he has a bit of a mind of his own. He rarely barks and shows no signs of separation anxiety. He isn't a greedy eater and is currently eating Dermadog large kibble.Health & Diet: Dahaeng is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on all his vaccinations. He takes a monthly parasite preventative. He was treated for a skin condition shortly after his rescue, and after returning from Germany, he was treated for fungal dermatitis, possibly brought on by stress. Both have been treated, and he has no other health concerns. His tail is docked. He has no missing teeth, and a dental scaling is scheduled. He has passed his veterinary screening and is healthy and ready for a forever home.Ideal Home: Dahaeng is looking for a quiet home with only women. Although he's comfortable with a few men he knows well, we don't want to risk placing him in a home where he may feel nervous. He wasn't always this way, but after his adoption experience in Germany, he became nervous around men. We want him to go to a home where he feels welcome and at ease from the very start.Dahaeng is a mellow, laid back boy with low energy. He'd be happiest with a woman who is retired or works from home, in a quiet household where he can relax and enjoy his daily walks. Easygoing and low maintenance, Dahaeng will be a wonderful companion, and whoever adopts him will be very lucky to have this precious boy.

Story
Meet Ongsimi — A Happy, Social Samoyed Puppy!   Name: Ongsimi Age: 6 months (Born March 4, 2026) Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Samoyed Color: White Weight: 12 kg (26 lbs) Height: 44 cm (17 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story   Ongsimi was originally purchased from a pet shop but was surrendered when her previous owner felt that she had grown too large.   She was taken into care on June 15 and spent about two months in foster care before moving to the AKR Center, where she is now waiting for her forever family.   ‍‍‍ Social with People   Ongsimi is an outgoing, affectionate puppy who loves people. She happily approaches not only people she knows, but strangers as well, often leaning or rubbing against them for attention and pets.   She is comfortable with both men and women and has also done well with children under 13. She can be picked up with an arm supporting her belly, and once she feels comfortable with someone, she will even roll over and show her belly.   Social with Dogs   Ongsimi is very friendly and enthusiastic with other dogs. She readily approaches unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play.   She does especially well with dogs around her size or larger and enjoys playing with other high-energy dogs. With smaller dogs, she can sometimes be a little too friendly — even when another dog is clearly not interested, Ongsimi may continue trying to convince them to play. She is still a young puppy learning how to read other dogs’ boundaries and social cues.   Cats   Ongsimi has not yet been observed around cats. A cat test can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level   Ongsimi is still a puppy, so she is naturally curious, playful, and energetic. She needs sufficient daily exercise, play, and stimulation. Once she has had a chance to burn off her puppy energy, she settles down and sleeps comfortably.   Walks   Ongsimi walks very nicely for her age. She has not shown reactivity toward passing people, dogs, or vehicles. She generally follows her handler well and does not tend to pull on leash.   Other Behaviors   • No food guarding has been observed with either people or other dogs, although she may try to investigate or help herself to another dog’s food bowl.   • She can demand-bark when she wants something.   • When placed in a kennel/crate, she may whine initially but usually settles fairly quickly.   • She can get in and out of a car on her own.   • She currently uses both indoor pee pads and goes potty outdoors. As she is still a young puppy, she does need frequent potty breaks.   Ongsimi is a cheerful, affectionate, social young girl who loves both people and dogs. She would be a wonderful match for a family ready for the energy, training, and adventures that come with raising a young Samoyed.   She’s looking for a family who understands that she may grow quite a bit more — and who will love her just as much when she’s a big fluffy girl as they do today. Story
Meet Silver - a survivor with a soft heart and a spark of confidence. Silver's story begins in South Korea, where she was born into a world that saw her not as a companion, but as livestock. Raised on a meat farm, her early life lacked the warmth, comfort, and love that every dog deserves. But Silver's story didn't end there-it changed the day she was rescued. Despite everything she endured, Silver emerged not fearful or shut down, but remarkably open, friendly, and full of quiet confidence. It's as if she decided early on that her past wouldn't define her future. Now this beautiful Jindo/Samoyed mix carries herself with a calm, self-assured energy. She greets people-both women and men-with gentle curiosity and an easygoing charm. While her experience with children has been limited, she has shown a kind and respectful nature, making her a great match for a home with older kids who understand how to interact thoughtfully with dogs. Silver is wonderfully social with other dogs and enjoys their company, though she does have a bit of a "boss lady" streak-especially with other females. It's nothing unfriendly, just her confident personality shining through. She would do well as either a solo dog or with a compatible canine companion who respects her. On walks, she's a dream-comfortable on leash, non-reactive, and happy to explore the world by your side. She rides calmly in the car and isn't much of a barker or troublemaker at home. Silver is very food-motivated (which makes training easier!) and does best being fed separately from other dogs-not out of aggression, but enthusiasm. She simply really loves her meals. Her ideal home would have a yard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy some fresh air, though with the right routine, she could adapt to apartment living. She doesn't need another dog, but she would appreciate a family that gives her structure, patience, and love as she continues settling into home life. Silver is living proof that resilience can come with a wagging tail. She's ready to leave her past behind and finally experience what it means to be loved-not as a commodity, but as family. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle spirit and a quietly confident personality, Silver might just be the one who's been waiting for you. Story
Chomani was found wandering the streets of South Korea in 2018 when she was just 8 months old and was thankfully rescued just in time from euthanasia. Since then, she's been living at the shelter without a chance to live a home-still waiting patiently for her forever family. It's hard to believe such a cheerful, lively girl has spent so long in a shelter! Chomani is incredibly friendly with people and full of bright, happy energy-if you're looking for a joyful companion, she's your girl. She has a moderate energy level indoors but really comes alive on walks! She's curious, social, and gets along well with other dogs, including her current shelter roommate. Because she's been in a shelter environment, she'll need some potty training at first, but with regular walks, she'll likely prefer doing her business outside. She enjoys brushing and bath time and handles both beautifully! On walks, she loves to explore-she might pull a little at first from excitement but soon settles into a nice rhythm. She doesn't have much car experience yet but has done well so far. Above all, she loves giving kisses and sniffing her way through the world on walks! ALL ABOUT ME Name: Haechan Age: 3 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo-Samoyed Mix Colour: White Weight: 20kg / 44lbs Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Microchipped, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY Hi, I’m Haechan — a fluffy boy with a naturally smiling face and a heart that took time to bloom. I likely spent the early part of my life as a stray, never knowing what it meant to be loved. When I first entered the shelter, I was afraid of being touched or approached and would keep my distance. But everything changed once I met patient people who helped me realize that love doesn’t hurt. Over time, I opened my heart — and now I’m ready to give it to a forever family who sees how far I’ve come.   MY HEALTH No known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a gentle, intelligent, and affectionate dog who now thrives on human connection. Once I trust you, I become incredibly loving — I give kisses, lean in close, and sometimes gently place my paws on you just to say, “I love you.” I’m loyal, sweet, and full of gratitude. Even though I was once timid, I’ve become the kind of dog who greets new people with curiosity and kindness. I have a naturally smiling face, and I really am as happy as I look now.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS With People: These days, I show interest in both familiar and new people. I enjoy gentle pets, love being close, and happily say hello. I’m not the biggest fan of being lifted under the belly — I’ll tolerate it when needed (like getting into the car), but I’d rather keep all four paws on the ground. With Dogs: I greet other dogs politely and am especially friendly with smaller dogs. I don’t usually play, but I like being around well-mannered pups. I do best with calm introductions — if another dog becomes aggressive, I may respond defensively, so supervision during first meetings is important. With Cats: I haven’t lived with cats, but on walks I’ll look at them with curiosity and move on easily when my handler redirects me. With proper introductions, I may do well in a home with cats.   ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES I enjoy walks, companionship, and bonding time. I have a moderate energy level and love being mentally engaged — I know “Sit” and “Shake,” and I’m currently training at Level 2 in the rescue dog program! I thrive when I’m learning and love making my people proud. After exercise or training, I enjoy settling down close to the humans I love.   TRAINING & HABITS I know basic commands and love learning I’m calm in a kennel and adjust well to new routines I do not guard food from people or dogs I rarely bark and communicate gently I’m working on becoming more confident with being handled in new situations I’m clean and well-mannered, and I walk nicely with guidance   MY IDEAL HOME I’d thrive in a home with: Patient, consistent guardians who understand Jindo-mix traits (loyalty, intelligence, sensitivity) Daily walks and enriching activities to keep me happy and balanced A calm and structured environment where I feel safe to continue blossoming A family who will respect my boundaries while celebrating how far I’ve come   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a true rescue success story — from fear to affection, from avoidance to connection. I may need time at first, but once I trust you, I give my whole heart. My smiling face isn’t just about looks — it reflects how I feel inside now that I’ve learned what love is. I’m ready to share that love with a forever family who will cherish me just as I am.   Haechan's YouTube Playlist ##2559293##
