Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure TJ #3 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . TJ #3 | 1 year old Shiba Inu/Lab mix | Smart, silly, and always ready to play TJ is a 1-year-old Shiba Inu/Lab mix weighing about 20 pounds with a fun-loving personality and energy to spare. This sweet, playful boy loves toys, fetch, walks, car rides, and pretty much any activity that keeps him engaged with his people. He’s also a cuddle bug who enjoys affection just as much as playtime. TJ is house trained in his foster home, though like any dog, accidents can happen while adjusting to a new environment and routine. He is crate trained, sleeps well through the night, and does fairly well when left home alone, though he may whine or bark a bit before settling in. He walks reasonably well on leash but is still learning that the leash is not a tug toy. TJ gets along well with other dogs and would likely enjoy a playful canine companion who can match his rough-and-rowdy play style. He has also done well around cats and children, though because he is still working on jumping and play biting, older or dog-savvy kids would likely be best. He already knows commands like sit, down, and come, and he is highly motivated by food, toys, and affection. TJ is a very smart dog who will thrive in a home committed to keeping him mentally and physically stimulated. Puzzle toys, Kongs, walks, play sessions, and continued training will help him be his best self. TJ’s ideal home is an active one that will embrace both his playful energy and affectionate side. With structure, consistency, and plenty of outlets for his busy brain, TJ is going to make a very fun and loyal companion. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
