Story
This is Kip, who we believe to be a Mini Schnauzer/Poodle Mix. Kip ended up on the door step of a neighbor during this past cold weather storm. Cold, wet, ungroomed, and matted up, Kip asked our neighbors to take him in. Since they couldn't without risking their bigger dogs hurting poor Kip, we volenteered to take him in until we could reunite him with his family. 4 weeks later, and no luck. Here is some important info about Kip. In short, we believe he needs a home that has the time and patience to help Kip past the trauma he has been put through. In these short 4 weeks he has quickly become my right hand man. so he is capable. -Schnauzer/Poodle Mix. -Around 1 year old. -Not fixed. -99% Angel, 1% Demon. -Hates collars and harnesses. Past trauma. -Occasionally territorial. Growls and Bites. -Very loving most of the times. -Barks only at passerby’s. Mostly quiet. -Indoor dog. Let me know if you guys know anybody that is interested. Located near Lodi. I can deliver if need be.

Story
Fourteen small dogs are beginning fresh chapters after being rescued together from a heartbreaking hoarding situation in Stockton, where more than 30 dogs were living in severe neglect and unsanitary conditions. These precious pups — a mix of Maltese mixes, Chihuahua mixes, and Terrier mixes — have endured far more than any dog ever should. Many arrived with severe matting and painful urine burns, and we’re getting them all to the groomer to finally feel clean, comfortable, and cared for. Beneath it all, they are truly gorgeous little souls. Understandably, this transition is overwhelming for them. They’re a bit scared and unsure right now — but even through the fear, their sweetness and gentle nature shine through. They lean in for affection, accept love, and remind us just how resilient dogs can be. These babies will need patient, compassionate homes where they can decompress, feel safe, and learn that the world can be kind. In return, they’ll offer deep gratitude, quiet companionship, and the kind of love that only a survivor can give. If you’re looking to make a life-changing difference — for them and for you — one of these little ones may be waiting just for you.

Story
Jasmine is one of fourteen dogs we welcomed into Family Dog Rescue from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. Despite everything she’s been through, this young Poodle–Terrier mix is showing us, in her own quiet way, just how much resilience and sweetness she has inside. Jasmine is sloooooowly coming out of her shell — and every tiny step forward feels like a victory. She’s still learning that people are safe. Right now, she doesn’t quite approach on her own and will scamper off if she feels unsure. But here’s the beautiful part: if you sit quietly and give her space, she’ll start sniffing around, curiosity getting the best of her. She even comes up to nudge your feet to invite play — she’s just not ready for pets yet. And that’s okay. She’s getting there. She eats great, loves her treats (even if she’s still building confidence taking them from your hand), and absolutely adores her crate and cozy dog beds — they make her feel safe and secure. Having a little sanctuary of her own is important to her. Where Jasmine truly lights up is with other dogs. She loves to play! Watching her romp around with her foster sibling and chew on her toys is when her joyful, puppy personality shines through. A confident, friendly dog in her forever home will help her continue to blossom. She’s learning her potty routine and has already started going outside, though she’s still figuring things out and may use a pee pad or rug occasionally. She’ll thrive with patience, consistency, and positive, reward-based training. Jasmine will need a calm, understanding home willing to move at her pace — but the reward will be incredible. Beneath that timid exterior is a playful, loving little soul just waiting to feel fully safe. Her foster sees it, and we do too: the potential in this girl is endless. 💫 If you believe in the magic of watching a shy dog bloom, Jasmine may be your girl.
