Looks like: Poodle mix Female, 12 years old (estimated), 9 pounds Cookies is just the sweetest treat to be around! She is a very gentle and mellow cuddlebug who loves to keep you company all day long. She is friendly with new people that she meets and gets along with other small polite dogs. We don't know yet how she interacts with cats. This lovely lady is hoping for a quiet home where she can be your little shadow and faithful companion. She prefers to be near her humans most of the time, but is also fine home alone after some initial protest. In the car she just curls up and is content to come along for the ride. In spite of having no teeth, she loves food and soft treats. Little Cookies came to POMDR as an urgent medical intake with a large mammary mass that we successfully removed at our clinic. She is doing well, but her activity and energy levels are still a bit limited as she recovers. To help the healing process, she is on several medications and sleeps a lot throughout the day. Cookies came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services.

Looks like: Poodle mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 10 pounds Pretty little Pearl is as sweet as they come! She's a tiny bit rough around the edges at the moment, but we know in time and with some TLC she's going to come into her namesake as a beautiful gem! She's always on the lookout for a comfy snuggle spot. Pearl would do best as the only dog in a home as she'd prefer to be the apple of your eye and center of your attention! This girl sweet girl can be bit fearful of change. She isn't the biggest fan of car rides at the moment, so it would be safest for her to travel in a crate while in the car. We don't know how Pearl does around kitties or children at this time. This curly little girl joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after she was picked up as a stray.

Looks like: Poodle mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 10 pounds Happy, sweet, and active Terra is a perfectly polite companion who likes to know what you are up to at all times. She will follow you around the home, observing your daily chores and routines. As reimbursement for her diligent supervision, Terra appreciates regular meals, a couple of well-timed treats, walks around the neighborhood, and loads of love. At the end of her busy day, she enjoys relaxing on the couch snuggled up next to you. Although she definitely prefers when her human companion is around, she is also fine when left home alone for a little while. She gets along with other dogs, but she has no known experience with children and cats. Up until now, Terra did not get a chance to live life to the fullest and she is eager to catch up on the plush pampered poodle lifestyle. She does have a bit of a wobbly walk, but she gets around beautifully. At her foster home she is getting introduced to car rides and although she is not the biggest fan, yet, she takes new experiences in stride. She is perfectly housetrained and knows how to use a doggie door. This beautiful soul is dreaming of a home where she can be part of all the daily activities, and where she can give and receive lots and lots of attention and affection. Terra was roaming the streets as a stray when a good Samaritan saw a truck run over her -- fortunately without making contact! She was taken to Hitchcock Road Animal Services before joining POMDR.

Looks like: West Highland Terrier/Poodle mix Female, 13 years old (estimated), 15 pounds Fergie is a fabulous girl who is looking for a loving, mellow, calm spot to land! She has some significant visual impairment and is a bit unsure of the world around her, so would need a home that can keep her safe in this respect. She will likely need to be carried outside to go potty and should be in a home free from stairs or other potential dangers due to her vision impairment. She gets along well with other dogs, but we don't know how she is around children or kitties. Fergie came to us from San Jose Animal Care and Services so that we could address her medical needs.

Looks like: Poodle mix Female, 12 years old (estimated), 9 pounds Affectionate and full of love, Chai is the queen of cuddling. Her stubby little tail wags like mad when her person walks into the room. With her Phyllis Diller hairdo you might think she'd have a huge stage presence, but Chai is actually a homebody who'd be quite happy to just spend time with her person, basking in the glow of happy home. She's a little shy around other dogs, no doubt because of her impaired vision, but friendly. This smart Cookie is an easy girl to please. Because of her fondness for an intact pack and a happy home, she is sometimes unsure that you're going to return when you leave. We think Cha's ideal situation would be in a place where companions are generally nearby. Chai's days were numbered when a Sacramento shelter reached out to us for help with this very sweet girl. She's been a great addition to her foster pack world and now Chai is ready for her permanent home.
