Story
Oliver is an 11 year old schnoodle looking for his final home. He lost his owner due to old age and was brought to our sanctuary. Oliver was diagnosed recently with a grade 4 heart murmur, and is prescribed pimobenden tablets. He just had a full senior blood panel that looks great. He is not symptomatic from the murmur and the medication is to help the blood flow in his heart chambers. It’s very realistic this dog has many years left. He’s active and sweet, you’d know nothing was wrong with him! We are in search for a very special home for him. He loves other dogs and all people he’s very affectionate and cuddly. This Home would be understanding about his diagnosis and financially be able to keep him on his medication.

Story
This is my Lola. I used to take care of my elderly father who was home with her all day. He passed in March and Lola has changed. I work 12 to 13 hours. It would be very unfair to get another dog so I tried a cat bad mistake. House has been chaos. It is not fair to Lola to be here because I can’t be with her hardly ever anymore due to my dad dying. I have to work all the time. She absolutely loves people and children more than I can even explain. Please help my Lola find a good home. She is a little anxious, but she is not a mean anxious just separation anxiety no anxiety meeting new people someone who could be with her a lot especially in the beginning is going to help her. I have a local dog trainer ready to take her and rehome her so if you are interested please reply asap she’s super sweet and smart.

NAME:  Ladybug BREED:  Cavapoo SEX:  female COLOR:  Apricot/cream AGE:  16 months as of Sept 2026 WEIGHT:  9.8 lbs LOCATED IN:  Arcadia SOME COOL INFORMATION ABOUT ME: Meet Ladybug!  Ladybug is a 16-month-old Cavapoo weighing just 9.8 pounds, and she’s just beginning her journey with Canine Castaways. Ladybug came to us through an owner surrender, and right now she’s understandably a little unsure about all the changes in her world. She is very shy, but there doesn’t appear to be an aggressive bone in her body. Ladybug needs a little time to watch, adjust, and figure out that the people around her mean her no harm. So far, she’s been good with other dogs, and having canine friends around may help give her confidence as she settles into her new surroundings. Because Ladybug is brand new to us, we’re still getting to know her. We don’t yet know all the little things that will eventually make up her story: what makes her tail wag the hardest, her favorite treats, whether she’s a couch potato or a secret zoomie champion, or exactly what kind of family will ultimately be her perfect match.    If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this dog... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Heartworm Tested - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Urinalysis - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on Flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this dog including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption. NAME:  Martin BREED:  Shih Tzu mix SEX:  Male COLOR:  white/brown AGE:  2 yrs as of July 2026 WEIGHT:  9.6 lbs LOCATED IN:  Arcadia SOME COOL INFORMATION ABOUT ME: Meet Martin!  Martin is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighing just 9 pounds, and right now he's still letting us in on the little secrets of who he is. Martin is a shy boy who likes to take his time getting comfortable with new people and new surroundings. He isn't looking to be the center of attention. He's much more interested in finding a soft bed, stretching out in a warm patch of sunshine, and quietly watching the world go by. And honestly, Martin may be onto something.  He enjoys treats and occasionally lets loose for a little playtime with his friend Gibson, giving us glimpses of the more playful personality hiding underneath that shy exterior. When Martin was found, his coat was extremely matted and desperately needed some TLC. Despite everything he had been through, he was a very good boy for his grooming. Because Martin is still new to Canine Castaways, were continuing to learn about him. We don't yet know all his favorite things, his funny little quirks, or exactly what his perfect home will look like. But were starting to see pieces of him. Martin doesn't need someone who expects him to show them everything on the first day. He needs someone willing to give him a little time and enjoy discovering who he becomes once he knows he's safe. Some dogs arrive ready to tell you their whole story. Martin is giving us his one page at a time.
