Story
Hi everyone, I’m Oscar. I’m almost three years old. I’m a very sweet boy, I love to try to get the old men in my foster home to play with me, but they’re not very interested. I’d love to have a playmate and my foster mom says I must have a fenced in yard so I can run and work off some of my energy. I love to cuddle with my foster mom and give kisses to all. I really like people and am a good boy – most of the time. I get really scared at the vet and groomer; I don’t try to bite or anything, but my doctor says I flail (whatever that means), so I have to take some drugs to calm me down a bit, and I get groomed at the vet. I’d love to find my forever home soon! From mom:  Oscar is quite the character. He’s house and crate trained, neutered, chipped and is current on his vaccines and heartworm meds. Oscar must have a fenced yard, he walks and potties fine on a leash, but he really needs to let off some energy (or he will let it off in the house!). Oscar came from a bad situation, and gets scared at the vet and groomer. I have groomed him a couple times (clean ups), but for a full groom, he is sedated at the vet. I have tried the mobile groomer (he does get carsick), but the clippers and scissors freak him out, and the groomers (we’ve tried a couple), are worried he’ll injure himself trying to get away. He has been boarded several times and does very well. He loves people and is very friendly and social with other dogs (he drives the old men here crazy). No idea with cats (he might give chase) but I don’t think he’d know what to do if he caught one. He loves to look at the deer that come in the yard. I think he’d be great with older kids (10+), I’d be worried he might knock smaller kids over though. He’s very athletic and can jump and climb, so any fence needs to be an appropriate height. He loves his food and especially his cookies. He doesn’t really have any interest in toys, I’m not sure he understands what they are. I think Oscar would do best with a doggie buddy who can show him the ropes. He’s good inside (unless energy!) and doesn’t chew or get into things he shouldn’t. Oscar’s adoption fee is only $350. He is fostered in Michigan, so is enjoying the snow. Oscar needs someone to work with him and have patience while he’s settling in and getting used to a new home. I also think training would be helpful (he loves to be busy, so redirecting him would be a great thing). Oscar just needs love and the ability to sleep on the couch. If you think you’d be a great fit please fill out the application to start the process. Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Unknown Gets along with other pets? Story
This young boy, ARCHIE is perhaps 2 or 3 yrs young, about 20lbs and we think possibly a schnauzer/poodle mix. Found stray in late DEC, never claimed, and now fully vaccinated and neutered. ARCHIE is currently in a foster home with other dogs (female and male, all older, all larger than him). Like many young dogs HE can be a little intrusive meeting other dogs (smelling them up close and personal); he does he take correction well from other dogs. This young boy will definitely need daily playtime, a walk or run time to help him release his energy, and a fenced yard is required for our young adoptable friend. ARCHIE can be independent, shows no separation anxiety, does very well with car rides, loves exploring new territory, seems confident, and well socialized, (unsure about cats) . HE is a very smart boy, but will show his stubborn streak at times; so, consistent training is highly recommended. We are still searching for the special reward that motivates him for training. he does not seem to be “treat motivated”. ARCHIE is crate trained, house trained, and knows: Sit and Lay down. He is learning to “walk on leash”… the shorter the leash the better for now. He is best described as: a Snuggle buddy / lap boy, Sweet, silly, Happy Go Lucky boy ;-) ARCHIE has very little (if any) shedding; his coat is potentially hypoallergenic but requires frequent brushing and professional grooming to prevent matting. We’ve been told… ARCHIE is a bit of a goofball as well as a constant companion and maybe even a hint of “free spirit”. He has not been tested w/cats. We typically recommend children over the age of 12 for a dog this young. He is currently located in foster care in Miami County, OH ADOPTION Application is located on the ADOPTME page at Dream4pets.org Questions: Email PetsRRpassion@gmail.com

Story
Quiet, gentle, and always at your side—Evergreen is the kind of companion who stays. 🌲 Evergreen is believed to be a poodle or poodle mix with a soft presence and a heart that’s just beginning to understand what safety and love feel like. Evergreen came to a local shelter as a cruelty case, severely emaciated and frightened, weighing only 15 pounds when a dog his size should likely be closer to 35–40 pounds. So badly matted that sedation was required to safely shave him, nearly five pounds of fur were removed. Even then, Evergreen showed everyone just how gentle he is. Shelter staff quickly fell for him and knew he needed the stability of rescue to continue healing and begin his weight-gain journey. Since entering rescue, Evergreen has been quietly blossoming. Weight is coming on slowly and appropriately, and while still thin, his ribs are no longer prominent. Even more meaningful than the physical changes are the emotional ones—learning that hands bring comfort, not fear, and that being close is a good thing. Evergreen isn’t demanding or loud about affection. Staying near his people is enough. When Evergreen wants attention, a gentle nuzzle to your hand is his way of asking, sometimes followed by a soft paw reaching out just to be sure he has you—and once the petting starts, he’s happiest when it doesn’t stop. Cuddling, resting his head on your shoulder, and quietly following you from room to room are some of his favorite things. Recently, Evergreen has started rolling over for belly rubs, small moments that feel big when you know where he started. This is a dog who will be your steady presence, your quiet companion, your constant sidekick. Evergreen does wonderfully with other dogs and has settled seamlessly into his foster mom’s pack of five wonderfully quirky dogs. Potty training is going well, with happy trips out to the fenced yard and right back inside. Evergreen walks nicely on leash, does well in a crate (even if it’s not his favorite place), and will go in on cue. Smart and eager to please, Evergreen is currently working on sitting instead of jumping when excitement takes over—because sometimes life is just really good. True to his name, Evergreen’s growth feels steady and meaningful. Evergreen is ready for a home where he can continue his weight gain, feel safe, and spend his days right by someone’s side. Evergreen is fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. His adoption fee is $275.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
$800 adoption fee is for both pups! Meet Madea & Gumbo! This beautiful bonded pair found themselves in the county shelter due to the death of their owner. Madea & Gumbo spent several days in the home with their deceased owner until they were finally discovered during a welfare check. A concerned family member reached out to SRC and put us in contact with that shelter, and the rest is history. Now completely utd on vaccines, spayed and neutered, chipped, and on prevention. These cute kids are housebroken and ready to find their family together. Madea (grey) 1 year/8 lbs. These two kids are playful in the day and snuggle bugs at night. They love to play and would be the perfect duo for any family. They would do best in a home with a fenced yard. They walk great on a leash, get along with other dogs and older children. Story
Meet Rowdy! After spending his first few years living outdoors, Rowdy, a 3-year-old poodle mix, is finally ready to enjoy the good life indoors—complete with cozy beds, gentle cuddles, and as many belly rubs as he can handle. Rowdy is a laid-back, easygoing little guy who would thrive with a family that’s home often or one that loves bringing their furry friend along for adventures. He’s a sweet little shadow, happiest when he can follow his people from room to room just to stay close. He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys his daily strolls. Rowdy is housebroken, though he may have an accident if his cues are missed. He experiences separation anxiety and continues to build confidence through crate training. Rowdy currently shares his foster home with two miniature schnauzers and pays little to no attention to the three resident cats. He does well with children 12 and up. He has not been exposed to younger children. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side and fill your days with love and cuddles, Rowdy might be the perfect match.
