Story
Come meet me and hundreds of adoptable pets at Cincinnati's mega adoption event, My Furry Valentine! Saturday, February 21st and Sunday February 22nd at Spooky Nook Sports!
Meet Abisko!
Abisko is a 6-month-old Husky/Poodle mix (a “Huskydoodle”) with long legs, a tall frame, and a whole lot of personality. At 40+ pounds already — and still growing — he’s going to be a big, handsome boy with plenty of love (and energy!) to share.
Like any young pup, Abisko is playful, curious, and always ready for the next adventure. He loves treats, is eager to learn, and is already doing well with potty training. He walks on a leash and is ready to keep building those skills with someone willing to guide him through basic training and help him grow into his best self.
His Husky side definitely shines through, so his future family should be prepared for classic Husky traits — smart, active, sometimes a little mouthy, and always full of personality. He’ll thrive with structure, consistency, and plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
Abisko is very friendly and does well with other dogs. He currently lives with a resident Jack Russell who keeps him in check, and he takes it all in stride. While he has lots of puppy energy, he also has a sweet, softer side — he loves to curl up, rest his head on your arm, and sneak in quiet cuddle time.
This sweet boy was rescued from a high-intake shelter after being surrendered with his sibling, and now he’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will help him shine. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, goofy, growing pup to train, bond with, and take on life’s adventures, Abisko might just be your guy.
Abisko is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. His adoption fee is $400.00.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
