Meet Sonia: The Cutest Little Lady Looking for a Forever Home! 8 year old, 55lb Sonia found herself at the shelter in the summer of 2025. Our team at Dog Coalition LA was immediately smitten with her. In play groups with other dogs at the shelter she was described as gentle, tolerant, and social. She tired out quickly and would adorably let volunteers know when she was ready to leave playtime by sitting at the door. She was affectionate with handlers and thanks to a dedicated foster, we were able to get her out of the shelter and into a foster home in September. In her foster home, Sonia remains unsurprisingly adorable. She has become house trained, crate trained, and gained loose leash walking skills. She enjoys going on joint walks with her canine foster sibling. She is friendly, gentle, and easygoing. She recently had a simple surgery to remove a couple of benign masses that were bothering her. Overall, Sonia is a mellow and sweet older lady looking for a forever home that will love and care for her and find her as charming as we do. Sonia is fostered with another dog. With slow introductions and proper management, we believe that Sonia could do well in a home with another dog given the right fit, which we are happy to explore with you! We also believe she would make a wonderful solo companion. We named him Spalding because his face looks like a catcher's mitt! He is so much fun and loves the attention. You can squish his face all day long and he will be your best friend. Spalding loves his walks. He weighs 55 pounds, and is pretty easy to be around. He does well with other dogs and initiates play with my female Staffordshire terrier. He can definitely benefit from leadership and training. Overall, he is a great dog that will bring you so much joy! All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Meet Pearl! A sweet and spirited six-month-old Shar Pei/Siberian Husky mix currently in Los Alamitos, CA, whose essence shines through her soft cream and tan coat and her endlessly wagging tail. Pearl is a bundle of playful energy and snuggly affection, already showing the heart and smarts of a lifelong companion in the making! Pearl’s favorite things in the world? People, pups, and playtime! She’s incredibly social and absolutely adores human attention. Whether it’s a walk around the block, backyard ball toss, or some quiet cuddle time after a long day. And speaking of fetch, Pearl is a pro! She’ll happily chase after a squeaky toy or tennis ball and bring it right back, every single time, with a look of pure joy on her face. Pearl thrives in the company of other dogs and would blossom in a home with a friendly canine sibling to romp and relax with. She's wonderfully quiet for such a young pup (no barking, no whining) just gentle tail wags and soulful eyes. Though she’s still learning the ropes, Pearl picks up new routines quickly. She’s potty trained, using pee pads inside when the door is closed, and heads outside on her own when given access.
