Story
Teeny came to the shelter as a stray on 3/25/25 and has been waiting far too long for her chance at a home. In playgroup, she tends to keep to herself, offering polite greetings, playing a bit, and showing some mild assertiveness, but overall she is a low-key, calm girl. Volunteers describe her as easy in and out of the kennel, non-reactive to other dogs, and very affectionate once she’s comfortable—she loves sitting close on the bench and soaking up attention. On a recent Snout & About outing to Baseline Trailhead, Teeny did well encountering unfamiliar adults, dogs, and children, enjoyed a Pup Cup at Starbucks, and showed nice leash manners with only mild pulling when curious. She is very treat motivated (especially for Milk-Bones!) and knows how to sit for rewards. Teeny can be a bit unsure in certain situations, such as sudden movements or unfamiliar approaches, but once given time and reassurance she seeks affection and relaxes. With patience, consistency, and a calm environment, Teeny has the potential to be a wonderful, loving companion who is ready to finally leave the shelter behind.

Story
Christine came into rescue when her owner could no longer care for her. Christine has a good amount of energy and gets bored without stimulation and plenty of exercise. She will need a yard to run and toys to chew on/play with. We really don't know what breed Christine is but we believe her to have sharpei because of her tiny sharpei-like ears. We also think that they may be some hound or beagle in her and probably some other breeds, as well. She is a beautiful Heinz 57. Christine loves to play with the other dogs but sometimes can try to become dominant. She will probably not do well with smaller dogs or cats. She has not been around cats since we do not have any here but she would, most likely, want to chase them. Christine likes to have fun, check out new and interesting things, and look for or create things to do. She has been good with the kids but may not be the best fit for really small children due to her energy. Christine is not leash trained, however we did put her in a harness to go to the vet. She wasn't sure how to respond to that weird thing on her back. She started to figure it out but hasn't quite gotten comfortable yet. Once she does, she will be a wonderful dog to take on walks, hikes and adventures. She would probably really enjoy that type of lifestyle. Christine will not do well in a sedentary type home as she gets bored easily and would not be a great fit for people who aren't overly active and who want a lazy dog. Christine is still young at just at a year old and is ready to find her forever family. Christine saw the vet on 3/6/26 and was found to have some scarring on her pinna from previous hematomas and no other issues noted on her exam. She tested negative for heartworms and has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention. She did test positive for hookworms on her fecal so we have dewormed her with Drontal. Christine weighed 54.5 pounds as of 3/6/26. If interested in giving Christine her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Christine's adoption fee will be $200 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Christine based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you

Story
Meet Frank! This goofy boy is just a big cuddler. While with a foster, he got great feedback, stating that he was extremely well-behaved, house-trained, and slept through the night with no problems. He enjoys going for car rides, playing with toys, getting lots of food, and lounging on the couch like a potato. Frank is such a good boy, and he would make the perfect companion.
