Yes ON HEARTWORM PREVENTION? Yes - he is HW negative ON FLEA/TICK PREVENTION? Yes GOOD WITH KIDS: Yes GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS: Yes GOOD WITH CATS: Yes - a little curious, but mostly ignores them PREFERRED CONTACT METHOD & INFO: email -  ali.mentana@gmail.com OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE DOG: Bear is a sweet boy who loves to play with toys and with other dogs! He can be a little timid with new people or in new situations, but once he realizes he is safe he is a total love bug! He is very treat-motivated, but is not the brightest boy so it takes him a little time to learn commands. He came out of the shelter with a bad skin infection which has resolved for the most part, but he does still have some allergies that we are trying to identify (we think he may have a chicken allergy and/or a grass allergy, but so far this has been managed with a fish-based diet and occasional baths with medicated shampoo). He also has a knee issue for which he will be getting surgery this summer (at the rescue's expense). Story
    Hi there, let me tell you a little about myself. My foster mom calls me Cici, and I like nothing better than hanging with my people at home or going on walks. I walk nicely on a leash and love exploring and sniffing while out. I'm a chill girl and very well-behaved in the home. I do all my pottying outside, and although I don't need to be crated, I will hang out in my crate if you need me to. I sleep in my crate in my foster home and love to lay alongside my people on the couch. I am a gentle girl and take my treats so nicely.  I'm a ten-year-old Shar Pei/Boxer mix who is very healthy and weighs around 60 lbs. I'm unsure what it means, but my foster mom always tells me how gorgeous I am. I sound just about perfect, don't I? I like other dogs well enough and don't mind passing them when we walk. I can even play in the yard with some, but I'm not particularly eager to share my space or my things with them, so I'm looking for a forever home where I'm the only dog. I should clarify that I don't mind sharing my things with people; it's just the other dogs I don't want to share with.  And cats? Well, my foster Mom says I'm way too interested in cats to be able to share a home with any.  I don't have a lot of experience with young children but my foster mom thinks I shouldn't share my home with children under the age of 13-15. She feels I may not do well with the energy of a younger child.  Anyway, that’s my story.
