Once approved and everyone is in agreeance with the decision being made you then are able to pay your adoption fees. Adoption contract will be signed. If the pet has not been spayed/neutered or current on rabies vaccination prior to adoption, the pet you wish to adopt will not be able to go home same day as it's adoption day. He came out of the shelter with a bad skin infection which has resolved for the most part, but he does still have some allergies that we are trying to identify (we think he may have a chicken allergy and/or a grass allergy, but so far this has been managed with a fish-based diet and occasional baths with medicated shampoo). He also has a knee issue for which he will be getting surgery this summer (at the rescue's expense). He is available for adoption in the meantime provided the adopter is able to adhere to recovery protocol after his surgery. I adopted Luna about 3 months ago from the local shelter. I thought she would be the perfect addition but quickly realized my first dog was not having that. We have given it so much time to try to transition and make them friends but he is lazy and wants no part in Lunas playfulness. They do get along, and it’s no fault of Lunas, she just wants to play with him and he gets quickly annoyed with her. I do think she would benefit from some training which is why I put experienced adopter or someone who may have more time to be able to train. Shes been great with my 3 kids and even protective of them, plays fetch and tug a war with them. Keep in mind shes only 1 so shes full of energy and loves to play. Honestly we are just overwhelmed with the three kids and trying to constantly keep dogs separated, we want her to have the best life possible with her perfect family.

We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. MEET PINKY: Pinky and Magoo were running at large on the property when we were called. Sadly, there guardian had passed away. Both pinky and Magoo have been fully vetted, spayed and neutered , up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative and healthy. Pinky has had needed entropian surgery and she is now totally fine. They are housetrained, know basic commands and are pretty mannerly. They are playful with lowkey medium energy. They are affectionate and very sweet and loving. Pinky is a little shy in the beginning. Magoo is very outgoing. Warms up pretty quickly. They are both good with other dogs, and both have been around kids to ages 10 and up. They can be adopted together or individually. They love each other but, would be okay and adjust if adopted seperately. They are just wonderful purebred Shar Pei. Pinky is a cream, brush coat and Magoo is a flowered horsecoat. They are 3 years of age. Don’t delay! Apply to adopt Pinky or both today.
