Arwin’s journey has been anything but easy, but this sweet girl is still full of love to give. She first came to us the day we reopened the shelter in February, and although she was adopted once, she sadly had to be returned in May. At only 2 years old, Arwin has spent far too much time in the shelter, and she’s ready to leave this chapter behind. When Arwin first arrived, she was terrified and trembled constantly, but over time, she’s grown more confident and comfortable in our care. She’s a stunning Shar Pei mix who is deeply loyal and protective of the people she loves. This protective nature is part of what makes Arwin so special—but it’s also why she was returned. She needs an experienced owner who understands guardian breeds and can give her the guidance she needs. Arwin would do best in an adult-only home with no young children. She will need to meet any potential dog siblings before adoption to ensure a good match. We offer trial adoptions so you can spend time getting to know Arwin before making your final decision. At just 2 years old, Arwin still has a lifetime of love and companionship to give. She’s been with us for far too long, and while we adore her, we’re afraid she’s being overlooked. Could you be the perfect match? Her adoption fee is $0.

Sassy is a 5-month-old Shar Pei mix that just absolutely loves life. She came to us as a nervous pup, but after spending time in a foster home, she is playful and so happy! She doesn't know a stranger, and even does well with kids! Her foster reports that she is getting the hang of potty training and she gets along well with the kids and other dogs in the home. They have also been working on basic manners and obedience including gentle treat-taking, sit/stay, and staying in one place in the car. Sassy is an adorable young girl that is going to make a family very happy!

Rose is one of our longest residents at the shelter. She has spent 8 years waiting for her forever home. Though she is quiet, affectionate, and well-mannered, her medical condition has led to being overlooked. Macie Rose has congestive heart disease that requires two daily medications, Lasix and Benzodiazepine. These are quite inexpensive drugs but must be given daily for the rest of her life. Medical condition aside, when she is out of her kennel, she loves to explore the play yard. She’s good at both relaxation and play, depending on what the occasion calls for. She’ll enjoy a game of fetch or to curl up beside you. She loves walks and she is super easy on leash! Macie Rose has lived with cats before and has a calm demeanor that makes her an ideal companion. We'd love to find her a home for the holidays!
