ENOLA is an observant gal with a lot of daytime energy. She enjoys doing zoomies, talking up a storm while wrestling, is naturally athletic, and makes goofy faces when trying to catch a treat. She is a good physical mix of the Shar Pei and Beagle genes, with behavior favoring either side at times. Examples are partial stranger danger response to new people, or surprised/alert response to dogs coming from nowhere. Enola’s adoption fee covers: -annual vaccines/boosters; -microchip, lifetime registration; -DNA health panel; -spay surgery; -monthly preventative; -Gotcha Day supplies -etc.

Story
Ellie, Mozzorellie, or NFL linebacker are just a few of her names came to us after quite the heist of sneaking out of another shelter and going on an adventure for months. Ellie arrived unsure, overstimulated, planning the next big escape, and not sold that people are actually nice. Over the past year at SOAR, she’s shown incredible progress in all ways. Ellie has never one time had an accident in her room, appears dog friendly, loves all people big and small, but we’re unsure on cats. Ellie is all about speed and playing chicken, she’ll run full steam ahead and ditch at the last second leaving you with soiled undies and a muscle cramp from bracing for impact. You WON’T find better forehead wrinkles, not even at a nursing home. The perfect home for Ellie would be active, older or no children, only dog or bigger dog friends, and if adopting to a house will minimally need a 6ft fully-fenced back yard.

Hi, I’m Soul! I’m a 1-year-old Shar-Pei/Pitbull mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. I’m at my happiest when kids or dog friends are around—I love being part of the action. I know no stranger, and I’m always eager to explore new places and say hello to anyone I meet. I love cuddles, toys, nature walks, and dog park adventures, and I learn quickly when treats are involved. I would benefit from additional training, as I am a young boy, with lots to learn! I’m looking for a family who can give me lots of love, fun, and guidance as I grow. If you’re searching for a loyal, energetic buddy, I’d love to be your new best friend.I am eligible for foster!

Meet Winnie, a 55 pound Shar Pei/Pit mix. Winnie is a homebody who loves to snuggle up on the couch with her people. We joke that she didn’t get the personal space gene when they were giving it out. Winnie has a sweet temperament, loves a good belly rub and a warm bask in the sun. She also loves her toys! You can catch her nibbling them endlessly, but don’t be fooled by her love of the soft ones; she loves gnawing on hard Nylabones as well.   Winnie will do best in a home with a fenced in yard where she is the only dog. She has never been introduced to cats or very small children, so we don’t know her reaction to them. “Win” will be a great win for the right family! Story
This dog is housetrained when following a consistent schedule and thrives on attention from people. He has a high energy level and often gets the "zoomies," showcasing his playful spirit. During playtime, he may give gentle, puppy-like nibbles. It’s important to note that he remains highly active and engaged when people are awake. He enjoys playing with ropes, has a penchant for destroying squeaky toys, and appreciates soft items. While he can be quite stubborn, with patience and guidance, he can learn and adapt well to his environment. The adoption fee of $100 is a refundable deposit. The adopter will be responsible to have the animal spayed or neutered within 90 days at the clinic of their choosing. If this is completed within the required 90 days the adopter is to submit required documentation that includes a spay/neuter certificate, a receipt for the spay/neuter, and a rabies certificate to get their refund of up to the deposited amount. Spay and Neuter is required for adoption per our adoption contract and by Indiana State Law. We do not require in most cases that adopters bring all their families members and dogs for a meet and greet. But we do highly encourage it. We are happy to introduce the new dog to your dog(s) at the shelter. No appointment necessary. We do offer home trials of dogs over 6 months of age for about a week. You will not need to pay the adoption fee (spay neuter deposit) ahead of time, but if you decide to adopt you will need to return to the shelter to complete the paperwork and pay the adoption deposit. If you do not wish to complete the adoption, you can bring the dog back at any time during normal business hours during your home trial period.
