Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Update: Chloe is a social butterfly, who was chosen last month to be part of the new prison dog-training program at Buckingham Correctional Center in Dillwyn, VA.  While she was most receptive to the exercises  there, she is very excited about playing with other dogs, and that became challenging for the handlers who are working toward certification as trainers for service dogs later on. Chloe's ability to love everyone and every dog she meets is a huge plus for her. She is great at reading other dogs, and helping them if they have issues, so is a great mentor to other dogs who may lack confidence.  ***********What could be better than a young, happy girl about this size coming to live with you? Chloe's family tried their best to keep her in their home, but the onset of illness in a family member meant there was just no time to care for their own needs as well as Chloe's. We are here to help families who need a helping hand, and we want to do all we can to give Chloe the chance she needs to find another loving home. We are told she is housetrained, and had a human "sister" to love her, as well as two great parents.  Now all she needs is someone new to give her a chance.  She loves to play ball, and is receptive to training.  She is a fun size, and easy to love! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 19, 2026, 1:02 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi … my name is Grizzly!  Please take a minute and read my entire bio to find out everything you need to know about me.   If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online. Grizzly is a BIG boy with a BIG personality and he needs the most special family ever! Grizzly is a super-sized, strong boy … and sometimes he is sure he is a lap dog.  The original owner thought he is a shar-pei, and we are sure he IS part shar-pei (which is a wonderful thing), but there is definitely something larger in his breed mix.  Possibly Great Dane, possibly mastiff. Without a Doggy DNA test we’ll never know, but he is 75 pounds, has long legs, and is well-muscled.  He can be the sweetest boy ever (he gives sweet kisses) and can also be a stubborn pain in your backside! He responds well to positive reinforcement. He gets very agitated over small dogs and cats and is very curious about chickens. Grizzly’s ideal owner will have experience with large, energetic dogs and will be physically and mentally strong enough to insure that Grizzly understands that Dad/Mom is always, without question, the pack leader.  Consistent positive enforcement of rules and boundaries will be essential for Grizzly to become the best boy he can be.  He is a work in progress. Grizzly came to us malnourished, with a severe case of demodectic mange due to a poor immune system, many allergies, skin infections, and entropion in both eyes.  After many rounds of medications, lots of medicated baths, various prescription foods and supplements, and surgery on both eyes, Grizzly has finally settled in to a healthy life.  Now he just needs to find the perfect family who will help him stay on the right path, and who will love him forever. Approximate age/birthdate:  July 15 2019 Weight/size: 75 lbs Housebroken:  YES as long as you do your part and take him out often Crate trained:  YES Personality:  people-oriented, dog-selective, protective of people he loves, stubborn Energy level:  high energy and needs to run but settles nicely inside, exuberant and loves life Fenced yard required?:   YES – NO EXCEPTIONS - he needs plenty of exercise daily, he has high prey drive, and he is protective of his people and territory Does he/she jump fences?  NO (but he absolutely could) Leash walk with manners:  YES Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’ Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK      Spayed/neutered:   YES Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES Microchipped:   YES Social with other dogs:  Dog-selective and his play style is still a bit rough, so his 75 pounds make an impact Social with cats: NO CATS Good with children:  Grizzly might love children, but he may not be the right fit for all children due to his energy, size and strength.  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up. Adoption donation:  $225 We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Grizzly picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 12:15 am

Story
Meet Tyson! Tyson is a 10 month old male fawn boxer mixed puppy. He is a bundle of enthusiasm. He loves his toys and especially loves chew toys specifically. He is updated on his vaccinations but hasn't been neutered. He would prefer to be with an active family and does best with older kids in the house. He would love to have a back yard where he can run and play freely to get his energy out and stretch his legs from time to time. He is crate trained and will potty on pads or go outside too! Sometimes he gets nervous when his favorite people aren't by his side, but he does very well with calming chews to help him out from time to time.
