Story
Current Location: Hanover, PA Hello! My name is Skull Skull is a sweet guy, gentle by nature, but he doesn't know what a leash is or why someone would want to hold one. He is doing okay, at least on the outside. Inside, though, he has no idea what it means to be a pet, to be someone’s family. That kind of life is still a mystery to him, and he has so much to learn. He figured out the stairs quickly, as if solving small problems was something he’d always had to do on his own. He needs gentle training, yes—but more than that, he needs patience, love, and care he had never been given. His body is thin, his muscles untested, his curiosity almost aching as he noses into everything, trying to understand a world that is new. With all the love he never had, he still has so much love left to give. He would make a wonderful family member—if only someone would finally teach him what family means.

Story
Hi, I'm Boulder, a robust and loving brown Pit bull. I'm a big boy, weighing about 90 pounds over the winter but I thin out when I am more active over the summers. Don't let my size fool you—I'm just a gentle giant. I'm neutered and all my shots are up to date, so I'm as healthy as can be. I'm a pro when it comes to house manners and walking on a leash, and I adore people of all ages. Although, because of my size and playfulness, I would do best with teenagers and not younger kids so I don’t tumble anyone during play. I'm the kind of guy who is content to be your shadow, lounging by your side, but I also love to stretch my legs with long walks and a good roll in the grass. My eyes will tell you stories, and my main goal is to make you happy. I enjoy family time, but I'm also independent enough to be fine on my own. If you're looking for a loyal companion for walks, picnics, or just some cozy snuggles, look no further. I'm being fostered in Sanford, NC, but can travel to other locations for the right home. Please note, there is a transfer fee. I promise to be the teddy bear you've always wanted!

Story
Current Location: Gettysburg, PA Hello! My name is Olive! Olive is a calm, laid back sweetheart who has truly mastered the art of relaxation. She is gentle, quiet, and content to enjoy the simple things. A soft dog bed, a warm spot in front of the wood stove, and a peaceful home are her idea of perfection. She walks beautifully on a leash and prefers short, easy outings followed by long stretches of lounging. Olive is happy spending time in her kennel or curled up in her bed, watching the world go by. She does not need much exercise and would thrive in a quiet, low key household. Olive has been fostered with kids and other dogs and has been a lovely, steady companion to all. She is sweet with children, polite with dogs, and relaxed when meeting new people. At ten years old, this Shar Pei girl brings all the charm of her blonde folds and wrinkles, along with a wonderfully expressive face full of character. Olive is ready for a calm life of comfort and companionship. She would be a perfect match for someone looking for a peaceful, loving presence to share their home and their heart. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Story
Libra is a 6-year-old Shar Pei mix with a calm, friendly nature and a tail that never seems to stop wagging -- earning her the nickname “Wiggles.” She recently weaned her two puppies and is now ready to focus on being someone’s beloved companion. It’s clear Libra had a difficult start in life; missing fur around her neck suggests she may have once been chained. Despite that, she remains incredibly happy, social, and resilient, greeting new people with an easygoing confidence and genuine affection. If you're looking for the perfect couch companion, work buddy and sidekick, she's your girl! Everyone that meets her ABSOLUTELY adores her! Libra does wonderfully in her foster home, where she lives peacefully with four cats and two dogs. She would enjoy having a laid-back canine companion who isn’t overly pushy, though she does like to play and enjoys relaxed walks around the neighborhood. A fenced backyard would be a dream for her—somewhere she can explore, lounge, and soak up the sun. She is potty trained, leash trained, and comfortable in a crate when needed and the best car companion. Libra is Heartworm posititve and currently undergoing treatment, which is fully covered by WTAR. She will need daily medication and a period of rest, but she’s an easy patient who takes her pills with peanut butter and is content to take things slow. Libra is simply a kind, adaptable dog who fits easily into a home and brings steady companionship wherever she goes. She’s ready for a second chance and a family to call her own. Adoption Day: January 24th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Pets may be adopted prior to this date with an approved adopter. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2581332##

Honey lives up to her name -- she's so sweet! Her little face wrinkles mean that she's got a bit of Shar Pei in there -- super unique! Honey would love a home who can give her lots of love and attention!! She's selective with her doggie playmates and tends towards alpha, so meet & greets are super important to ensure the right fit! She loves kids, but kitties are a no-go. You can visit Honey any time on our Dog Adoption Floor! updated 01/13/26
