ADOPTION FEE: Zoey is being sponsored by a generous donor which means she is FREE! Her adoption fee has been waived in hopes she can get adopted right away! **Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts!
ESTIMATED WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 55 lbs, a healthy weight would be around 50 lbs
KNOWN WITH DOGS: Zoey would prefer to be the only pup in your home so she can get all your love and attention. Once she has that, she doesn't see any reason to hang out with other dogs.
KNOWN WITH CATS: Zoey had one cat test and did very well, the cat hissed and swatted at her and she backed away
KNOWN WITH KIDS: We do not know how Zoey is with kids, though she would prefer to live with older children so they don't get their toys mixed up with hers!
KNOWN CUES: Zoey is getting really good at Drop It with her toys, to better assist with games of fetch - which she loves!
KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: She is fully house-trained!
KNOWN LIKES: The QUEEN of butt scratches, snuggling, toys, and napping. She enjoys fine dining of cooked chicken and wet food. She will walk with you until the road ends, and then ask if you can keep going in the opposite direction.
KNOWN DISLIKES: Socks, she will eat them. She had to have gastric obstruction surgery, so keep laundry away from her. Having her paws handled. Sharing things with other dogs. Having her stuff taken away without proper warning.

There are dogs… and then there’s Zoey. A 9-year-old Shar Pei mix with dramatic rolls, a flair for the fabulous, and the energy of a retired lounge singer who still insists on being called “Miss Zoey.”
She didn’t choose the princess life — it chose her. Zoey lived a pampered, adoring life until her beloved owner passed away, and she suddenly found herself in the shelter. Heartbroken and confused, Zoey was understandably unsure at first. But after some time (and a generous supply of booty scratches), she emerged from her royal chambers ready for the extravagance she deserves!
Let’s break down this living legend:
✨ Spayed & vaccinated – Because royalty comes fully vetted.
✨ Potty trained – Obviously. Zoe would never.
✨ Walks? Yes, but don’t expect cardio.
✨ Booty scratches? Mandatory. They’re written into her imaginary prenup.
✨ Table scraps? Must be delivered by hand. No notes.
✨ Loves older people? Obsessed. She thrives in the warm energy of people who understand that life’s better at a slower pace.
✨ Rescue favorite? Has her own fan club.
Zoey is full of quirks. She has opinions. She likes her snacks a certain way. She will absolutely assist with your emails by lying on your laptop. She is equal parts snuggle bug, sass machine, and nap expert. She’s not here for drama — she is the drama, but in a deeply lovable, “you’re never lonely again” kind of way. She wants all of your attention, and may not be interested in sharing it with other dogs!
Her ideal home? Peaceful, loving, chicken-forward. She’d thrive with someone who enjoys the golden-hour slowness of life, a few leisurely walks a day, and possibly sharing their sandwich (willingly or not). Even at her age, Zoey loves toys, and she loves people who let her play with her toys in her space, and offer appropriate trades when Toy Time is done.
