Story
Survivor is a two-year-old tan and white Shar-Pei mix who’s ready to find his forever home. He’s a sweet, adventurous guy with a curious spirit and a gentle personality. Survivor enjoys exploring his surroundings, going for walks, and spending time with people. He has been patiently waiting for a family of his own and is more than ready to trade shelter life for a place where he can settle in and be loved. He loves other dogs and would do great in a home with a canine companion or two. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a good balance of playfulness and affection, Survivor could be the one!!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Update: Chloe is a social butterfly, who was chosen to be part of the new prison dog-training program at Buckingham Correctional Center in Dillwyn, VA.  She is fitting in well to their program, having started with them on Monday, April 20. We truly want the best for our dogs, and Chloe's ability to love everyone and every dog she meets is a huge p[lus for her. She is great at reading other dogs, and helping them if they have issues, so is a great mentor to Sophia, who also is in the program. We see great things happening with these two girls! ***********What could be better than a young, happy girl about this size coming to live with you? Chloe's family tried their best to keep her in their home, but the onset of illness in a family member meant there was just no time to care for their own needs as well as Chloe's. We are here to help families who need a helping hand, and we want to do all we can to give Chloe the chance she needs to find another loving home. We are told she is housetrained, and had a human "sister" to love her, as well as two great parents.  Now all she needs is someone new to give her a chance.  She loves to play ball, and is receptive to training.  She is a fun size, and easy to love! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2026, 7:29 pm

Story
I am looking to rehome my 1-year-old dog to a loving and patient home that can provide her with the time and care she deserves. She is a very sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented dog who enjoys being around others. She gets along well with children and other dogs and has a loving personality. To provide some background, she came from a previous environment where she spent extended periods confined in a cage with limited interaction. Because of this, she has developed some separation anxiety and can become distressed when left alone for long periods of time. She may cry or bark when she is left by herself and can have difficulty being outside alone. However, she does very well when she is around people—she is calm, loving, and enjoys simply being near you. She is also energetic and playful. She has not had consistent training yet, mainly due to my busy schedule and frequent travel. With proper training, structure, and attention, I truly believe she has the potential to improve.
